I love coffee. I would be drinking coffee until it spills out by my ears, it this thing also didn't get me some heartburns (why English man call this "heart burns"? It's the stomach that goes too acid and hurts...).

So I realized that I could drink almost all the coffee I want by using some milk on it. 2/3 coffee and 1/3 milk does the trick.

However, drinking milk all the day is making me fat. Too fat.

So I tried soymilk.

(sigh)

I hate bathroom scales. That ones that talk are particularly vicious.

I'm done for next year. Why?
In school I have to choose between whether I want to take music or art classes in the next year. Since I am missing about five years of music (went to a different school) I've been advised by my teacher not to take music classes.

This means I'm forced to take art.

I just found out that my brother, who recently moved to CA, is ELEVEN MILES from SpaceX's headquarters in Hawthorne.

And I'm about as far from everything space related one can be and still live in the continental US. ;.;

Although there is a chance we'll be going to DC this fall for my wife's uncle's funeral at Arlington, so I'll get to see Discovery.  Not the shuttle I wanted to see though.  :(

I'm sad.

Can you not go "visit" him. He is part of your family after all! ;)

He's living in a blanket fort in some kind of commune.  So, not ideally.  He also just got there.

It's also 1600 miles, and I refuse to get on a plane.

I hope I will visit him soonish though, as he does have the Shuttle I do want to see.  It sucks, I also really want to see a Falcon 9 launch, but I want to see it land on land.... which they don't really do out of california.... that would require going to florida... which, again, wrong shuttle!

Don't you live in Louisiana?

Anyhow, if you still do or did, there's John C. Stennis Space Center - where NASA tests engines, including the shuttle's back when the shuttles were the backbone of the space program. Each time we visit the family in that neck of the swamp, we visit the visitor's center and take the tour.

Oh and even SpaceX uses their facilities for engine testing... :)  Just so ya know.

lol no.  I've been there twice, briefly.

I live about 45 minutes north of Branson, MO in a lovely town best "known" for the world's largest fork, and one of (if not the only) remaining factories in the country still manufacturing cassette tapes.

Wait... how do you schedule a funeral 6 months in advance?   Unless this is something to do with being a veteran and it takes a while to get interred at Arlington.

Eventually, we all get to deal with this to one degree or another.

Quote

Scheduling a Funeral at Arlington

Upon the death of the veteran or eligible family member, you should contact a local funeral home to arrange for any desired services in the hometown and assistance. The next-of-kin or funeral director should contact the customer service center at xxx-xxx-xxxx to arrange for the service at Arlington

After you call you will be given a case number and asked to send copies of the veteran's DD-214, death certificate, and cremation certificate if applicable. You can email, fax, or mail them.

Be prepared, since there is a large demand for interment in Arlington it may take several weeks to several months until your request is approved. Also, special requests such as full military honors or use of a chapel may add to the approval time.

My cousin got their 2nd star (Major General) inside the Women's Memorial, I was there for it.  To stroll though Arlington.......... it is quite a place.

Why is it practically impossible to record internal audio on a mac, something which is A BASIC FEATURE A COMPUTER SHOULD HAVE OR AT LEAST SUPPORT.  However, there IS NOT ONE FREE COMPUTER PROGRAM THAT LETS YOU DO IT EVEN.  I'm beginning to think macs are bad, but then I remember windows 10 which is buggy spyware that force downloads things.  Why does every operating system suck

Expecting something about Linux from @Geonovast any moment now....

It's not terribly point and click in Linux either.  This is one of those things that's as confusing as why home inkjet printers are still terrible, terrible things after so many decades.

I've done it with audacity.  Once you get the process down, it's not terrible.

Why does every operating system suck.

It's a pain in the ass on any OS, due to some rather old design decisions on how to get data to soundcards. Essentially, you need to hack the soundcard driver or insert a shim between the application and the driver. Or just use a cable.
ALSA on GNU/Linux has a plugin that can do this (with some properly arcane configuration) and Soundflower on MacOS creates a virtual soundcard for the same purpose. I have no idea how to go about it on Windows, as that OS does indeed suck.
