The water is fake, if you try to swim you just fall to the bottom of the pool and then you can’t get out again because the sides are too steep to walk or drive on,

I think the water is fake since all the water in the game is at the same exact height.   I don't think there are any lakes above 0m ASL.

theres is a secret fishing mini game in the game.  i think scott manly or somone else did a video on it. but i dont remember the particulars of how to get it.

there's not any fishing mini game, it's a 1st april joke.

however irrelevant it is, you can climb it with F key if you're dressing the helmet, or just remove the helmet and normally walk outside the fake pool.

Same with the rivers. They all are the same height until the mountains start cutting it off. Its impossible to boat up any KSP rivers. I really hope they fix this in KSP2.

I really like this pool, I always try the crossing capabilities of my rovers in it

But it would be a good idea to have a proper rover test track near the KSC....
