  2. Has there ever been a truly great sequel that was developed by a different team to the original game? Fallout 3 is the one that comes to mind. But Bethesda repurposed their Oblivion engine and basically just did their own thing, even to the displeasure of fans of the originals. Donkey Kong Country was developed by Rare, but it was significantly different to the early Nintendo arcade games. Similar to Fallout, maybe enough time had passed that the new developers felt comfortable doing things their own way. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was produced in a different country to the first, but they went to great effort to bring over as many of the original team as they could, even despite the language barrier. Basically all of the truly great games with '2' in the title have been created by the original developers of the first, or at the very least the same studio: Half Life 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Portal 2, Mass Effect 2, Dishonored 2, Halo 2, Resident Evil 2..... If KSP2 had become a success it would be a very rare case of bucking this trend as it was created by a different team in a different country with none of the original developers to the first game
  3. Looking for paleoclimate / archaeological assistance (articles or links) with effects of the Late Antique Little Ice Age (LALIA) (volcanic) on societies in the Americas / southern Africa. (6th and 7th Centuries - coinciding with the "Dark Ages" of Europe) e.g. Cooling and societal change during the Late Antique Little Ice Age from 536 to around 660 AD | Nature Geoscience - It's pretty clear that Justinian Plague and mass migrations happened in conjunction with the LALIA in Eurasia due to cooling temperatures and changes in the weather patterns. But I'm looking for archaeological or paleoclimate information for the Americas or Sub-Saharan Africa for that time period. The closest I'm finding is the fall of Teotihuacan ~ 600ish Teotihuacan - World History Encyclopedia There is a pretty good correlation between the LIA (starting in the 1300s) with changes in Native American cultures A 600-Year-Old Blueprint for Weathering Climate Change - The Atlantic, including paleoclimate data showing intense droughts in the American Southwest during the LIA. There is similar climatic variability during the Medieval Warm period impacting Mesoamerican cultures. It's the earlier pulse I'm looking for; stories / data about the Dark Ages - outside of Europe. Thanks for any help. (Teaching the correlation between climate change and societal disruptions)
  4. cook your own egg sandwiches, its cheaper. i love my cermet coated griddle.
  5. A couple more parts in development: Half-length ISS solar array Standalone large sun-tracking ISS radiator Standalone medium non-tracking ISS radiator Short & long 1.25m->0.9375m adapters Inline 1.25m airlock Passive NASA Docking System port (part of Benjee10_sharedAssets) The radiators also have few different length/power variants - full radiator lineup below: There is also an experimental SystemHeat compatibility patch. All up on GitHub now for testing (warranty not included)!

  7. Thats not good. Even the shuttle could take a few lost tiles, and hat both a higher ballistic coefficient and an aluminium structure, which has less resistance to heat than the stainless steel. I wonder if the internal pressure of the tanks is to blame, as it could greatly decrease the tolerance for softening of the steel before catastrophic failure...
  8. You should check out KSP2 EA store page.. the read more section where each developers tells potential consumers more specifically what can be expected during EA. Things like dedication to communication where they look forward to interacting with community and exploring feedback? Some people are more upset about the misrepresentation and damage to commun trust than a failed launch. Lies are bad mmmkay
  9. Nobody is entitled to a refund. Why would they give you a refund? You bought the game at a discount, because of the chance that the game wouldn't get finished. If you are unhappy with the discount, you should not have bought the game.
  10. Sounds like they just rolled with the default file name in the Landing Platform Vessel design program.
  11. Congratulations Beale - there can't be many mods out there (for any game) still being supported by the same developer after ten years, let alone with new work actively being done on them!
  12. Think you missed an $50m-100m for this to make sense except if you think kids who is very expensive, way more so if you want looks wealthy, not so much if you are really rich. But at $10m you are rich. Drank some beer and ate dinner with an guy like that, boss of a friend, very down to earth guy, an close to $1M boat, the cabin we was staying who I say is 10x more expensive but an company thing as its mostly for the employee.
  13. Yeah that's the current setup, as you say its not so bad. The hope however was we would have a custom module for this. The to do list for Atlas was put together way back in 2020! Back than JSO was still around ocassionally so we thought we would have this module eventually. JSO did write the auto jettison for the skirt back then though. That was the other item on the Atlas plugin wishlist we put together back then.
  14. seems their whole society has become dependent on unobtanium and so are able to overlook a little genocide to get it. of course this kind of thing sets up a chicken and the egg problem. you need it for interstellar travel, but its on a moon in another star system. how did you get it in the first place? dune had a similar problem with spice. the prequel books kind of sorted it out but it really wasn't necessary. people complained a lot about the lack of the spacing guild in the new dune movies but they are intentionally kept mysterious for the first book. all we know is that they need spice and are a serious power player, however their goal is to more or less maintain the status quo. the guild really doesn't get fleshed out until messiah anyway. also some exposition in the dialogue of god emperor.
  15. Actually, a KSP gamer needs 100 mln USD.
  16. That is as imaginative as the name given to a very large telescope called the Very Large Telescope.
  17. Missed a golden opportunity here to call it New Evergiven, New Billy O’Tea, New Istanbul-Not-Constantinople, anything better.
  18. Avatar looks good, liked it a lot but my profile is an catgirl It was lots of idiot balls there, mostly the main actor. No an mine will not destroy an planet but attacking people because you want some resource is evil. That movie has so many fridge moments has so many fridge moments you can write an book, if you can send an huge spaceship to Alfa Centauri in 8 years you are k1+ civilization you do not have an lack of energy for other stuff than pushing starships to an decent faction of c and make antimatter for them to brake. And the avatars makes little sense at all expect making the main character an nav'i, and if I was the girl I would be a bit turned off by it for reasons.
  19. Oh yeah, forgot that the skirt was a decoupler already. In that case, you wouldn't need Staged Animation, but a regular animation and use an action group for the launch (launch stand, GSE doors and any tower stuff), something I do frequently and am comfortable with, but which may be too much for a lot of players.
  20. ive seen birth of a nation when i was doing my silent film binge. possibly the most racist thing you will ever watch. totally worth watching though for the battle scenes (may be considered the first war epic). in a world where everything is considered racist, its good to go back and see how much has actually improved in the last 100 years. also check out the golem, haxxan, and definitely metropolis. grossly inferior to antz.
