Thats wild. MIT Haystack is pretty close to me. Feel free to send your harddrives.

Something like this should be stock when one selects a Novice setting. Looks great.

If you've made it to a stable orbit, you're doing pretty good I'd say. Welcome.

Its unfortunate. I never thought I'd see the day I would be telling people not to buy KSP; I've bought several copies as gifts for my friends over the years and am always telling people how great a game (on pc) it is.

Imagination.

Both console versions are sub par at present. The porting company Squad hired has been replaced, and the new company is entirely redoing the port so its not a broken mess that corrupts your savegames as it is now. This new version of the port, which is of a later version of ksp, is slated to be released in early 2017. You can see minor discussion of the state of the port in the Weekly Updates here in the forum. If I were you, I would pose these comparison questions only once a functional port has been released and people have had some time to play on it.

How does one build a shuttle?
klesh replied to Chel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
On top of what everyone has said, the most difficult part of a shuttle replica is re-entry and aerodynamic stability. Usually upon return your cargo has been deployed and your fuel burned leaving very heavy engines at the back making your shuttle unstable. Its very important to understand how to make a stable plane in KSP, and then apply this to what your re-entry shuttle's weight and lift distribution. Lift behind the CoM, which is difficult when the heaviest thing is on the back of your ship. In addition to translating the wings and ailerons for best effect, I've also taken to using RCS fuel as ballast for re-entry, to keep the nose of the plane as heavy as I can make it to balance against the engines. I carry an amount of RCS fuel that I dont intend to burn (except for when i am gliding in, burning it continually to reduce mass) specifically to reorient my CoM. The amount of RCS will vary, but looking at your shuttle in the SPH will reveal how much is needed to shift your CoM around during the different stages of the mission. Its probably not the most elegant solution and certainly not efficient, but I like it and it works for me. -
This is not me, but I recently found this online. Holy smokes. Apparently its 19km long.

Shapeways hasn't gone under like the other two, so Why not keep a link to them?

Welcome, its is indeed a great game. There is a community-made mod manager named CKAN. Along with EVE and Scatterer, I would suggest a few others as well: KER, gives you good informational readouts the game doesn't provide in stock. Ven's Stock Revamp, changes the look of some of the science fiddly bits, but keeps the overall feel of the parts very stock. Upgrades their looks 100%.

Maneuver node adjustment sans cursor looks great in the dev notes, er, weekly update. Having watched a number of console players struggle with the game on twitch.tv, manipulating the maneuver node system was one of the most egregious offenders. Seems to me to be decent evidence that the update is going to be a good one. My guess is that it is taking longer than hoped (theres not much time left to release it before the halfway point in the year, after which any release cant be seen as "early 2017") because they know they cant afford any more ill will another botched console release would bring. My hope is theyve learned their lesson and Blitzwork has been tasked to make their build as solid as possible. Regarding refunds, you guys should be taking it up with your respective console stores. Explain to them in no uncertain terms the situation, and if you can send them links and evidence to support, perhaps you still have some daylight to get a refund. I think the tactic of "how could you let this game pass your QA review, Sony/MS?" Is the best angle. Certainly the lack of any updates yet (ps4) or the failed-to-fix-the-problem-update would be another great point. Squad having switch console port teams would be yet another.

Where is the best spot to drop a rover on Duna?
klesh replied to maallaard's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Have you scanned it for biomes yet? The best place to land would be in an area where 2-3 biomes converge or are very close together. Alternatively, you can use the cheat menu to turn biome display on, have a quick peek where looks good, and try to land there. Edit: ninja'd. But 6 is the way to go, for sure. -
Mouse over the acronym to reveal the answer.

My thought as well. Presumably his engines dont have an alternator either. -
Decoupler Ejection Force
klesh replied to Ncog Nito's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Which unfortunately is one of the problems when you set decoupler or seperator force to 0; it still imparts a force upon decoupling/separating. Do it in the wrong direction and your transfer stage won't smack into the moon as planned, it'll sail right by. I've taken to paying attention to my orientation prior to decoupling a stage now. -
More Iota basework as I wait for transfer windows for my probes. Adding the USI recycler the other day did wonders for the Supplies consumption, but killed the Electric Charge capacity of the main base. Having tested the small 1.25m nuclear reactor on the Fuel Converter, I decided one would be useful at the main base too. Connected directly to the recycler at a reasonable distance from the habitation and laboratory, the nuke reactor with plenty of cooling is just what the Engineer ordered: I even added a little Cherenkov radiation on the reactor (we'll pretend that no medium is required). Looks cool at night.
