  1. Recently I've replaced the battery in my laptop and added 2GB more RAM, and I've been thinking about further upgrades - specifically, replacing my ageing Lenovo T420's HDD with an SSD of the same size (1TB). I have a few questions about buying, replacing and using the hard drive: 1) Where should I look for the best value for money on a 1TB SSD? 2) What's the best way to go about cloning data from the old HDD to the new SSD? It appears that Kingston sells SSDs along with software for data migration, but some tutorials say it's best to simply reinstall the OS and then transfer data across using a USB. 3) What advantages will the SSD have over an HDD, especially when playing KSP? Thanks in advance
  2. SpaceX appears to be beginning construction of the first Super Heavy prototype at their Florida site, alongside the Mk1 Starship that is being built there. As the Teslarati article notes, there are enough steel rings to build Starship Mk1 to about 120% of its planned height, so these new rings are probably segments of Super Heavy, or maybe another Starship.
  3. It took me a while, but I finally managed to make a helicopter that flies nice and stably, without flipping over and/or crashing into the ground. I have the rotor blades deployed, and the authority limiter set to the throttle, so that I can alter descent/ascent rate in the same way that I would with engines. Those electric motors are really powerful, so I could use this craft to carry pretty heavy stuff if I need to. I put solar panels on the top of the fuselage, but they don't produce power fast enough to feed the motors, meaning I have a net loss of electric charge. I might need to add some more hefty power sources...*cough*nuclear reactors*cough*. It also turns quite slowly, since it only has the torque from the Mk3 cockpit up front and one 2.5m reaction wheel in the back. I'll have to add a couple of extra magic torque machines to get it to move faster.
  4. You need Hooligan Labs Airships to make Heisenberg’s parts functional. It says it’s for 1.3, but still works in the latest version
  5. Are they going to be attempting to recover the first stage on this flight, or will that have to wait for later flights?
  6. I have several mods installed which have B9PS as a dependency, but aren't updated to use 2.9.0 yet. Will things break if I install 2.9.0 anyway?
  7. Well, whenever you turn the suit lights on (via the keyboard shortcut or the UI button) it's always the same way that lights on the vessel are turned on, so it's probably the same action group, even though you can't edit it.
  8. Banned because that’s the only thing I can do on this thread.
  9. It’s just this forum, Teslarati, YouTube and the occasional mod search.
  10. But the piping lights are bound to the same action group as the suit lights, so there’s no reason why Crew Light shouldn’t turn them on as well.
  11. 10/10 for you too. As @The Dunatian said on the previous page, I'm almost ubiquitous
  12. You’re quite new, I’ve only seen you a few times. 5/10
  13. Always the latest version. Even though I have quite a few mods (but not as much as many on this forum ) which have the danger of breaking when I update the game, I can’t resist having the improvements and bug fixes of the current update. I always make backups before I update in case a critical mod breaks, and if it’s necessary I’ll roll back to the previous version. I’ve never had that happen, but in the course of learning and playing this game, I’ve been self-taught to think like an engineer, and the number one rule of engineering in my mind is to always be fairly conservative and prepare for the worst
  14. I feel that it’s made sense for Starhopper to retire after the 200m hop ever since it lost its nosecone, because that limited it to low-velocity (and as such, low-altitude) flight testing. I assume that the Starship Mk1s that are currently being constructed have the necessary heat shielding to fly higher-altitude and suborbital test flights.
  15. @Augustin You'll generally be able to drive faster on Kerbin, because the gravity is higher and that means that you get more grip. I don't think this is a bug, it's just that the Mun's lower gravity means you get less grip.
  16. Apparently, upgrading my laptop's RAM from 6GB to 8GB decreased the loading time by quite a bit. Before it was around 20 mins, now it's 15 (or 10 if I'm lucky).
