I sure hope colonies can be mobile. Even if it isn't exactly efficient, the idea of making huge mobile colonies like that SHIELD aircraft carrier would be incredible on itself.
-
I think Antimatter is very likely the end-game fuel. An Antimatter ship would likely be powerful and efficient enough to get you to any system in the game while carrying lots of cargo. However, it will probably be very hard to produce (probably the hardest), and will take a lot of energy. I'm more of a Nuclear Salt Water rocket fan though

New engines in the conventional lineup?
Davi SDF replied to intelliCom's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I wish to see more LOX Aerospikes and even HydroLOX ones too. Perhaps more engines with the gickmick of Extensible Nozzles. For Jet Engines though? Larger TurboFans, larger Afterburner TurboFans, larger TurboRamjets... Everything larger! (perhaps a ScramJet too?) -
Damn, talk about being COLD. (got it? cause radiators are used to COOLdown!)
-
And we are not even talking about space stations here, cause that thing is ULTRA MASSIVE

THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL FINALLY I CAN USE HUGE RADIATORS WITHOUT MY GAME RUNNING AT 2 FPS!

Orbital Megastructures
Davi SDF replied to AmericanRocketryRambler's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I'd say at most the size of Gilly, and that is still HUGE, should have enough space inside for anything your Kerbals need. Otherwise, if there isn't a limit, anything that your PC can handle can be built. -
How do you guys name stuff?
Davi SDF replied to Second Hand Rocket Science's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I like to call my early rockets "Manned missiles". When i am in a middle/endgame, i start to make families with each one based on a real rocket family, with their names inspired by them too (example: Saturn to Sarnus, Jupiter to Jool and so on) -
It's good for mining and making a base???? I dunno, I am not a Dres fan. I don't even know if it exists.

The idea of a reactor in space
Davi SDF replied to charleygoldberg's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Reactors designed to work in space could definetly exist and be quite useful for future missions, specially if we are willing to make a colony in Mars. Of course, there are many other problems to be tackled with it. But large enough space stations of even space rigs around asteroids would definetly need the power density of such reactors. -
Can you fly a plane on a gas giant?
Davi SDF replied to awsumguy76801's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Perhaps if you had a nuclear reactor powered aircraft, and even then it would definetly be hard since a Gas Giant's atmosphere is very low density. But with big enough wings, powerfull enough nuclear reactors and some damn good avionics, I would say definetly yes! -
Like it has been already said, KSP makes a lot of things much easier to acomplish than in real life. It's a trade-off for fun.
-
Definetly big enough to be considered self sustainable, and then, after reaching a planet, becoming the main space station for a while.

KSP 2 Achievement Ideas
Davi SDF replied to TheOrbitalMechanic's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
MO-HO-HOLE!: Go down Moho's "Chimney" and land in there intact (perhaps only achievable in December?) -
Interplanetary War & Kerbal nations.
Davi SDF replied to Minmus Taster's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I guess war would be considered griefing (or trolling perhaps) wich could definetly be a banable concept for a KSP2 server. Of course, this would depend on the server owner. And, of course, there will definetly be servers made for combat, it's inevitable. (I am guessing that players will be able to create their own servers and ban players themselfes. If the only Multiplayer servers are made by the company itself, then war will definetly be banned) -
I don't think separation motors need waterfall, they are usually very small, and even without mods, their plume looks good enough (simply because they are so small).

How long and when did you start playing KSP?
Davi SDF replied to SudAntares's topic in KSP1 Discussion
since around 2018, when the making history expansion was launched. -
It's the camera-man of course! I don't know, i've never saw anything like this.

Discussion about the biology and medicine technology of Kerbals
Davi SDF replied to Vini's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I think Kerbals can't die of old age or scarcity of food, I don't really know how their biology is though... But i do know that, although they can't die of aging or hunger, they canonically can die of shock (see RoverMax Model XL3 for an example of this. The HubMax too is a great one). But why though? They are resilient to falls, hunger, radiation, insanity, aging... but a surprise birthday party can kill them? -
The poor @ColdJis going to have their notifications flooded, i am really sorry for ya! But i do think @ColdJ is the next one to reply

Perhaps mix the water with nuclear salts so you can have a Nuclear Salt Water rocket engine? Sure, it's radioactive as frick, but you get great thrust and isp, you could send a Jupiter/Calisto mission from the Moon with such fuel!

Open Source Construction Techniques for Craft Aesthetics
Davi SDF replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Hello! I see that this thread has been stagnant for a year, wich is quite sad, because it has some great tips! So, i made a quick and simple post about something i haven't seen to be talked about here, wich are fairing engines (without mods)! NOTE: i am using Restock, however, it does not affect the process. You can do the same things i did with a completely stock game. ALSO: Yes, this could be considered cheating, as you can clip many engines in to a small space. But if you want to, you could just add one! First, you will need a fairing, i chose the simple 1.25 meters fairing. You will need to flip it upside down: Then, you start making your combustion chamber: Then you make the throat and the engine bell: You can change the fairing color so it looks better, i chose a metalic color. Now, add your engines of choice! I chose the Mastodon, great engines due to their radial attachment! Almost done! Now you have to de-activate the fairing expansion and it's staging. Good, now, if you want to, you can make a Boat-tail using larger fairings! De-activate it's staging too... And done! (NOTE: this might look better than in stock due to Restock and WaterFall, but i assure you, you can make great engines with this technique!) You can use fairings to make MANY things! Like a huge TurboJet as an example: Or a low power and efficient engine: OR Sea-Dragon worthy engines! Basically, you can use fairings to make custom looking engines. Imagine all types of engines! Huge! Weird! HUMONGOUS! Nuclear! You can even make dual mode engines by adding two diferent engines onto the same Fairing Engine! Thank you for reading this, i hope you have some ideas for great engines! I wish you all well. Bye! -
Air launched fusion craft?
Davi SDF replied to Newgame space program's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
They gave KSP players procedural wings and better performance, no matter the engine and it's size, I will find a way to build a plane large enough to lif it. Hopefully there are some engines capable for that too though! Like the Fusion Aerospike that was mentioned above, or some kind of Project Pluto engine too. -
One thing that could help with precise landing is having the ability to simulate the trajectory while still visualising the craft, this way you can see where you are going while having visual contact with the place you want to land.
