  1. I've always said that the location of the death of every Kerbal should be marked with a little grave stone and map symbol. Remembering the sacrifices of kerbals for the progress of the space program is a core game element. I still have strong memories about the time when Jeb and Bill suffocated 2 days before Kerbin reentry after a heroic Duna mission. The capsule brought them back in one piece.
  2. It's all been discussed through KSP1 mods, in the KSP2 pre-launch forum and in the suggestions and wishes section. The devs know what players want. Until they deliver *something*, there's no reason to rehash old arguments. Clearly, if science will be the same click-fest system like in KSP1 and they don't draw inspiration from Kerbalism Science and a lot of cool suggestions we've had, I'm going to be upset.
  3. People are disappointed because of the bugs and the ugly terrain. Other than that, it's a great base game. I don't get why people are so negative.
  4. So because you brought it up.. KSP1 with Simplex Kerbalism, Parallax and EVE with weather is for me, hands down, the most breathtaking space exploration game ever made. Nothing in gaming comes close to working through the engineering complexity of sending a spacecraft to Duna, Eve or Jool and doing an atmospheric entry through the clouds and storms.
  5. They did not over-hype the initial release. Quite the contrary. Also I don't see anyone excited that the ...
  6. When I walk home from work, I sometimes look up at the clouds and imagine the re-entry streaks of players coming home from their travels. At night I see the faint glows of interstellar ships burning to leave the solar system. I look off into the distance and in the radiant heat on the horizon I see the contrails of science planes doing research. The park pathways mark the busy routes of my transport rovers. I look at interesting buildings and ask myself: "is this what my colony will look like?". When it rains, I imagine what color the weather is around tall mountain peaks on some distant planet. I talk to AI about space-ship designs, I dream about the future and.. I know that some day I will explore the stars with all of you. Keep the dream alive, keep KSP2 in your hearts!
  7. I've seen the video about wobbly rockets and I'm amazed this is still a problem with the game. The poll results are ultra-clear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpK_jGTJG3
  8. Starship using hot staging just makes me want to play KSP. It's gonna be something to behold.
  9. Hello team! Any new content from release until now that I should discover in the game? Any extra reasons to play it again now?
  10. 1. How are you accommodating content creators that want to make movies inside KSP? 2. Can kerbal appearance change during long hard missions (like growing hair / beard)?
  11. Thank you for the work, team! I really care a great deal about seeing innovative ideas making their way into the game. We all know the wish lists are long, but transparency about the vision for the long term vision for the game is the thing that made me wait all these years and be very excited for KSP2, @Nate Simpson. I really believe in the vision you presented in the trailers and in the long-term potential of KSP 1->2->beyond. Humanity is starting to wield the power of Artificial Intelligence and increase productivity, the things we will see in the next few years will be amazing and scary. You as a team have an incredible opportunity to make KSP a game that can inspire human and AI players alike, that can open minds to the wonders of space exploration. KSP can show us the way for the future - believe that and build that! Thank you!
  12. I say it's good we all continue lurking and observing for a while. The falling player numbers for KSP2 and the stable numbers for KSP1 confirm this. Clearly a lot of us have lived with the hope that constructive dialogue about design decisions for KSP2 would come from Nate and management. This has not happened - we only get what we get fed, the game design is transparent only as a re-implementation of KSP1 and the new mechanics are a black box (which btw we don't know when they will be added to the game). It's OK, all we can do is wait and see what the team is working on. Going on year 4.. 5.. etc. If the only publicly communicable idea is that "we have the community feedback and we're considering it" but there is no dialogue or exchange of ideas just because the Intercept team knows best, OK. I trust them, I have no other choice. I'm sure all community members have their own opinions about this. For now maybe we should only address what exists and not what might be, cause there has been a lot of years of patience and KSP1 modding and community discussions and new ideas that are nowhere to be seen in the new game. I personally don't see anything that would encourage me to try to put in extra effort for now, except for the fact that KSP is a necessary game for humanity and it should exist as a concept (which has previously been described and detailed in KSP1, in mods, in forums posts and by the community). Still have the patience to see how exactly it will be implemented and I will go back to playing the game after new content gets added. "Expanded" is a very broad and optimistic term. I would say KSP1 mods have expanded KSP1 in many ways.
  13. The tragedy of forcing the speed of imagination down to the speed of implementation. Keep up the good work!
  14. First of all, there is no backstory for the Space Jockey in Prometheus or Alien Covenant. Speculations are that it would come in the third film. Secondly, those are movies more about rogue AI and less about biting monsters. So maybe you're not being intrigued by the right thing. As for KSP2 state of affairs, it's just a stretched out, torturous waiting game. It has been ever since the game was announced. Just a "wait.. it will be a great game in 2,3 ..5 ..10 years". But what hurts me the most is that I feel this business-oriented expectation that the modders should be the ones who build the most interesting parts of the game. This was supposed to be an amazing sequel, but it just looks like a slow reboot. I'm still waiting for any spark of creativity in KSP2 game design.
  15. Let's gooooo!!! https://www.spacex.com/launches/mission/?missionId=starship-flight-test
  16. 1. In the future, could KSP2 have a persistent multiplayer universe in which all the community would build and play together? 2. Will KSP2 have an event recording system which will allow us to do a mission, return back in time and then see that mission play out? (enabling parallel missions, multiplayer time warp, space races etc.)
  17. I feel like there's an expectation that modders will add everything and will basically build KSP2 for free. That seems to be the business plan. No life support, no weather.. even the "delivery routes" will be just numbers incremented periodically.
