  1. I am experiencing the same issue with RTX3070ti and I7 11700k almost all the time with short periods of good performance in Kerbin orbit. Performance is great everywhere else. Not even switching to other programs fixes it.
  2. This is great! Just 5 days until For Science! Hyypeeee
  3. Hype train approaching next station For Science! Approximate time left until arrival: 7 days
  4. Not a lot for now I think, but once we ger resources that will introduce a whole new progression and "survival" mechanic (Not in the way that you can die, but that you don't get everything for free. ) In addition to science, progression will come from infrastracture that allows you to colonize planets, build larger and larger craft and eventually go interstellar, where you can again get science and build infrastracture.
  5. Lots of great fixes in there! Looking forward to get to play For Science! in just 18 days! As always, thank you and continue the great work team.
  6. You want to play KSP2 on a phone?
  7. 1. Something similar to Scansat, that allows you to map planets and maybe discover resources to help you choose good spots for colonies and to explore 2. A system that allows you to recover boosters and fly your upper stages "at the same time" (FMRS) 2. Robotic parts (hinges, motors, pistons) 3. Better ground textures and more scatter 5. This could work well with point 2: a system that can record a flight and replay it, so you can get different camera angles for the same part of the flight. A system like this could also help with the implementation of point 2, where you for example first land booster 1 and the game records that path, it can simply replay it when you land booster 2 so they can land simultaneosly and when you fly the upper stage the boosters will replay that again and land while you do that.
  8. Hm, I don't remember a lot of science stuff being found in the game files by multiple people, mostly on the KSP2 modding server. Also, in gameplay footage we've seen lot's of stuff from colonies and interstellar while little to none science stuff was shown. No source to back this but an early access release wasn't planned for a long time and they've been working on all future features before the early access decision simultaneosly and I'd expect a lot of working having gone especially into colonies and interstellar back then. (Multiplayer is obvious as it must've been worked on all the time so it works with all the other features)
  9. A clip of Nate saying something about that ^ So, as Nate also said a lot of work has been going into bugfixing and foundation, which will (hopefully) not be the necessary between future roadmap updates. Also, datamining suggests that science was the least done milestone at Early Access release, while all the other features are in a relatively advanced state as they have been working on them a lot before EA release. My personal prediction for the Colonies update is somewhere around April (maybe even earlier, that'd be great), but aside from Nate saying they expect a significantly shorter period of time between For Science! and colonies than between EA release and For Science! and what I said above, that is mostly speculation.
  10. I completely agree. (Beginner astrophotographer here)
  11. Yeah, a very big part of KSP1's unperformant heating system was thermal conductivity, which will no longer eat up processing power in KSP2. That makes the heating system simpler from the technical side, without comprimising on gameplay. More here : https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/topic/218512-developer-insights-21-rockets-red-glare/
  12. That for example will fortunately be fixed in For Science!
  13. There already is a planet shine system, as Vl3d already mentioned. When you are on Laythe you can clearly see a green shine from Jool, but I guess with the current system either the Mun doesn't shine at all or it is not bright enough to reach Kerbin.
  14. Reported Version: v0.1.5 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 22621) (22621.ni_release.220506-1250) | CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700K @ 3.60GHz (16 CPUs), ~3.6GHz | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti | RAM: 32768MB RAM 3200MHz (4 Sticks Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 8GB) Expected behaviour: Relatively consistent framerate, with just slight differences corresponding to different phases of flight Observed Behaviour: FPS suddenly dropping from 40+ to around 9 in any flight phase near Kerbin and staying there for a few seconds to minutes, then going up again. Steps to replicate: Fly a craft in Kerbin's atmosphere or near/in low orbit The video attached shows a craft ascending into Kerbin orbit, but that is just an example, as this happens in many other situations too. I also attached the KSP2.log file. The mission shown in the Video is the last done before I uploaded the log here, so relevant stuff for this example is propably near the end. Included Attachments: FPSDropsinKSP2MitClipchamperstellt.mp4 Ksp2-2.log .ipsImage { width: 900px !important; }
  15. Amazing, keep up the great work! Next stop is FOR SCIENCE!
  16. Nate talked about a little bit of "narrative excitement" after completing missions.
  17. Nertea actually mentioned colonies heat managment on hot planets will be a thing. That would be a great opportunity for such probes that can collect data on how hot a specific region of a planet is to be really useful!
  18. Looking forward to that. Thank you for the insights ShadowZone!
  19. As one of the comments said, sounds like you're arriving in a new star system
  20. And Nate admitted that they made some miscalculations in terms of game state for Early Access and what the community wants, which sounds like they've learned from their mistakes for the future
  21. And we already got to see a lot of gameplay, I think science is in a good state and the devs are sure about it now.
