  1. I've watched a few videos, and the really good players seem to limit the dupes early, I only had 8 or so for the longest time, now I have 16. And that will be fine for now. I have 500k kcal stored up, and a very viable farm running, so I'm good there.
  2. That's the rub I'm in now. Right now, My prison colony is stable and self sufficient (water might become an issue in 50-75 cycles or so though, but there's reservoirs nearby). I'm exploring a bit, digging tunnels out to find new stuff now, so a lot of specializations aren't being used that much. I don't want to lose some of the cross training I've done. But it's not an issue though. I do need to find oil though to make plastic so I can make the tubes to get guys around the asteroid quicker....
  3. The box said Spoiler until I expanded it, then it said "Hide Contents", when I closed it, it said "Reveal Hidden Contents". Go figure. Yeah, we had a recent forum update, that seemed to slightly bork a few things.
  4. Right now I have a working small scale automated cooling system (I can get into details if you'd like), that is keeping a small room of ice plants at ~3c, and also providing a little bit of cooling to the rest of the base. It'll need scaling up eventually, but for now I'm well in the black for everything, and it's only my second playthrough. (Ok, I'll admit to sandboxing in some algae and Coal to keep my going while I work out new ideas on progressing). @Nightside & @eberkain, I'm not sure if I understand how hats are supposed to work. Any quick explanations? (I have a lot of concepts I don't get yet, but I'll ask them as I run into them).
  5. Overlapping threads have been merged, and moved to GP Q's, as it is about the game, not BG in particular.
  6. Oh Hey! Tag you're it @James Kerman!
  7. Anybody else playing this? It's still early access for now, and relatively cheap, but it's going live in July, so I don't know what the price will do then. It's as if there was a hybrid baby between Dig-Dug, Minecraft, and SimCity. Your start off in the middle of an asteroid and have to mine resources to survive. What's amazing me is that it's another game you can Meta pretty easily. As in, some players like to play it in a spread sheet. There's even a mod to export daily reports to a spreadsheet. And the science involved is pretty neat too. While not staying purely to the laws of physics, they seem to do a decent job of mimicking the gas laws.
  8. Different threads, but I also have two items that are being listed as unread. Gladly though, the notification icon is not appearing, so once they drop off the top of the list, they won't be an issue.... I've also noted that if somebody links a thread you've started, or even a single post, you get a notification. This is a good thing.
  9. Science is about gathering data, and that data is gathered with a meter. As in a thermometer, seismometer, etc. Those are already in the game, and like things like the rocket engines, there isn't anything to assemble. The call went out to a vendor for a thermometer, and they delivered you a calibrated, tested, gauge that is ready for space flight. You can assemble a science package using a variety of science meters, but building your own gauge would be similar to having to build your own command pod. Those would be very cool, but I think that lies outside the scope of the game. Plus, as VHM said, part count....
  10. .1%?? Gather your pitchforks people, we have us a witch!
  11. This only happens if you are on Page N of a thread, and your next post would be the first post on page N+1 (ie your post starts a new page), as yours seems to be here. I can get it to work every time, but I have learned to recognize when it's happening, 'cause if you keep hitting the submit button, even after it's done "saving", it will continue to post the same thing over and over. That's why you will occasionally see people post in triplicate or worse, and then have to go back and edit out the extra stuff.
  12. I know Tapatalk works with this engine, but I'm unsure if the settings are enabled for the KSP forums....
  13. Ok guys.... You know how this goes. Play nice. Some posts have been removed or edited as they were starting to get personal. If you don't agree with somebody, you are not required to engage with them. If you know a particular poster will just upset you, then don't read it.
  14. You know, normally I'd just merge this into the Name Change thread, but this uber-ninja posting that just happened, I think it'll just confuse everybody, so I'll just move it over to the network.
  15. Yup! At the very least, specify it's a TOTM nom, you don't need to specify a reason, but it does help in the selection process.
  16. Thre's absolutely nothing wrong with reporting threads that you think might be even slightly amiss, what ever the reason. As long as you give us a little bit of info to work with in the report editor, the worst that can happen, for the most part, is we go "Eh.... nothing to see here, carry on". We know most people are reporting threads for the good of the forums, and not some personal agenda, although that does happen every now and then. But the worst type of report is the one that does not explain anything about why they are reporting the post. We only see the post you are reporting not the whole thread. Yeah we can click on some links to get there, but If we have to do much digging to figure why it got reported in the first place, it just makes the job harder. So a little context with each report helps. Even if it's just a little blurb like "Wrong forum" "Swearing" or "This user has summoned Zuul and we need to do something about it before it gets out of hand". That way we know what we're looking for when we dive into it, and we can prioritize the workflow if we need to. Although, that last one would require three other mods to agree to cross the streams, even though we agreed to never cross the streams, and then cover a large metropolitan neighborhood in marshmallow cream. And given that the moderation team is a global force, getting us altogether that quick might be a logistical nightmare. So if that happens, expect us to deputize some of you that are local to each other so we can fight the scourge as a solid front.
  17. Moved to Kerbal Network
  18. How'd we get from awesome forums to school shootings this quick? Let's get back to how awesome the mods are....
