Amazing! I've a question though, will the craft files work or are they still being worked on? Last time it didn't really work well and I wanted to know if I should wait for the craft files to be done.

I have a predictable issue. I used bluedog.Apollo.Block2.DockingLight2 in several craft. With the new version all these craft will not load.

Has this part been renamed?

(In that case I can just add a MM config to rename the part.)

I can't answer your question, BUT I found a couple more:

I just did a CKAN upgrade, started the game and I find I'm missing bluedog.Saturn.VFB.Dish, and bluedog.ApolloBlock5.ServiceEngine from two of my space stations.

All major BDB updates are generally breaking changes as parts get replaced, this one even more so due to the number of parts being revamped.

You can downgrade the BDB version in CKAN and reload the save, retire old craft and then upgrade again if you didnt want to start a new save.

Edit: unfortunately there is no way to provide this warning via CKAN.

yeah no the craft files don't work, they're all incompatible and the saturn crafts are missing parts

Craft files were created in KSP 1.12.3, the only version of KSP BDB now officially supports as KSP is now end of life and thats the latest update. If you want to use the craft files in older versions you will need to use a text editor and change the version in the file.

If any saturn craft are missing specific parts please let me know the exact details. If its regarding fairings, make sure you have simple adjustable fairings installed.

Hey @Zorg,

does that mean, that even Kerbalism needs new patches for this new update of this beautiful great mod?

Almost certainly yes as there are new parts with new names. Kerbalism support for BDB has always been provided on the Kerbalism side as its quite complex and none of us use it so you would need to check with them (or help them out with a PR :) )

Alright. So I can just go into the files and change it to whatever version i'm using? And the part was like the 2.5 saturn fairing. I'll look into it in abit, thanks.

Yes thats right. And if you still have errors, specific craft file and missing part details will help trace the problem.

As @Zorgsaid I updated all craft files to use SAF fairings and bumped the version to 1.12.3

If you have old save games or your own craft files that you'd like to update, you  an find and replace the old part names using a text editor fairly easily.  What I do is make a new ship with the "offending" part in a simple build, look up the name in the craft file then copy, find and replace in my "broken" craft.

With Notepad++ you can find and replace across all open files so you can quickly fix a whole bunch in one go.

How would I do that with Notepad++? I have notepad++ open but don't know what to do.

you can use the Search File function.   I use it all the time to merge mods on another game.   Point it at the directory with your craft files.   Search for *.Craft.

No slight intended here but if you need more help after that then you probably shouldn't be doing anything because you are risking breaking the entire game.
