can i rename it to replace the default ALCOR MFD (such as that used in the ASET 1-3 IVA) or would that break the IVA's?

oh! I forgot...you wanna use this in an existing IVA, prolly :P

no, dont mess with this cfg at all.
All you have to do, is open the cfg of the specific monitor you want to replce it with, to find out the actul name the game uses for the monitor prop, (the "name =" field), in this case, for the default ALCOR MFD, its "
MAS_ALCOR_MFD40x20" (without quotes).

Then open the .cfg for the specific IVA you want to do the replcement in. Search/find the PROP{ } module that has that name.
Then just replace the name with "MAS_APEx_MFD40x20_kOS" (without quotes).

That should do it.

*HOWEVER*, i forgot to tell you you need one moar file, also :P
https://github.com/StoneBlue/AvionicsSystems/blob/New-Vulkan-M2X-APEx-Angler-Props/GameData/MOARdV/MAS_ASET/ALCORMFD40x20/MFD40x20/MAS_APEx_MFD40x20_PG_kOSPropMonitor.cfg

you dont need to do anything with this file, either, other than to make sure it goes into the folder included after the /MOARdV/ part of the link.

*AND*, IIRC, you need to install the kOS PropMonitor mod, too.

it does work on the default small ASET ones it seems, you need hit the resource view key three times. probably post that with screenshots in the kOS PropMonitor thread in the morning. I love accidental discoveries.

Greetings. I'm having a problem loading the game. After deleting the problematic file, the problem recurs with another file. Of course, I can play without these screens, but empty white planes are not encouraging. Links to archives with logs are attached.

At the very least, you have an old version of ModuleManager installed; you have instances of MiniAVC.dll installed (I suggest installing ZeroMiniAVC to take care of that); ...then, probably most relevant, it looks like you managed to corrupt your MAS install... I see the /MOARdV folder there, but it also looks like the MAS plugins are not found. I would delete the MOARdV folder & reinstall MAS.

Hi, I was just trying to solve this issue over on DE_IVA and it turns out this is an issue with MAS so here I am:

I am having issues with the green HUDs in aircraft inline cockpits being opaque black in the DE_IVA mod.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/b360zzyccg30z6v/Player.log?dl=0  - Here is the log

And below are screenshots. For whatever reason, the Mk1 Pod (not inline)'s HUD works but I have no clue as to why only that one works and none of the others.

All the HUDs worked when I didn't have MAS installed, but ofc none of the other props existed.

Mk1 inline - https://imgur.com/QHL1OP7

Mk2 Inline - https://imgur.com/LKPYZhF

Mk1 Not inline - https://imgur.com/VJmugYq

The error log - https://imgur.com/AN95pQ6

Anyone know what could be the cause?

I should also mention that I have a number of other mods like ScanSAT, DPAI, Vesselviewer, and mechjeb, which could be causing a conflict but I have no clue which or why.

@KGE can you pleeze post a KSP.log instead? as well as ModuleManager.ConfigCache?

Your issue is most liely just a simple patching issue somewhere... I just need to find which mod is stepping on someone else's toes :P

That's my log file, I put it in  the dropbox link in my previous message if this doesn't work.

Here's the dropbox link for the ConfigCache - trying to paste it in a spoiler causes my browser to crash.

Thanx for the logs... they verified what I've been hunting for all day, today...

And good news... I found the issue and fixed it.
Its a missing MASFlightComputer patch in a Reviva patch.

I'll get a PR submitted, but it it will be up to @610yesnolovely to eventually get it out in a release :P

EDIT: so I've been informed by a very smart mod dev :P , that my fix *only* fixes everything, if Reviva is installed...
It seems its all still broken, if that mod is *not* installed...

But... he clued me in, how to fix *that*... it also requires a patch fix in MAS itself... so I will submit a PR there, too. :P

It's not a huge deal, just a little annoying because I figured it was something wrong on my end. Good to know, thanks for the help! - By the way, what in the logs told you what was wrong? I just don't want to come crying and annoying mod makers every time something goes wrong. :sealed:

Update: I moved all my mods out of my gamedata folder, launched the game and moved them back in, relaunched the game, and that fixed it for some reason even though I didn't reinstall anything. Looks like Reviva wasn't initializing properly until I did that for unknown reasons. Weird.

Update 2: That fixed the HUD in the inline mk2 cockpit, but not the mk1 inline cockpit with the MAS+DE IVA or the DE only IVA. The MAS MFD also does not work in the mk1 cockpit. I am generally confused. Re-initializing also did not fix anything this time

Hey guys,

hope I’m doing this the correct way…

I’m desperately trying to make a mod/ or find a way to have the MFDs in separate windows…

For context, I’m building a big big scale simpit for ksp, and absolutely need to run what’s happening on the IVA’s MFDs in separate windows…

I’m not that good with code, so its a struggle…

please please help

Thanks !

I'm getting an issue in the OPT J cockpit and trying to tack down the culprit. I apologize if it's unrelated to MAS but the only visible errors in the log relate to MAS instruments.

Issue: Cockpit instruments are visibly present but serve no function. They're not reporting data, just static. The Altimeter works, so it seems modded instruments are borked. I can get this cockpit to work in the simple RPM config but I love this avionics style and would love to get it running properly, I drool over this button layout. [Image example under spoiler].

If anyone has any help I'd greatly appreciate it. Hopefully it's not bothersome to ask here in this thread, I don't know what the cause is.

Thanks!

Did you try to switch on bus and power (two switches with red cowers)? Flight computer doesn't work without power if the powerON variable is defined. If these switches are also not responding, it's a real problem.

@Elon's Musk First off, you have several copies of outdated versions of ModuleManager.
You also have a copy of MiniAVC installed. Thats been known to be broken for awhile. Best to remove it.

These may not be specifically reltaed to this issue, but worth probably addressing.

Also, I see some sounds not loaded/found, from Advanced Cockpit mod?.. I'm not familiar with that mod, but the errors *are* related to ASET Props, and could makke some of those props non-functional/unresponsive. One of them is a Main Bus switch... I dont remember if that is the main power switch that Manul mentioned above, but if it IS, and the prop is not working, that could very well be the culprit. You can either try removing Advanced Cocpits, *or* look for the "requires powerOn" type of key (not the eaxct name, I cant remember it), in the IVA cfg for that cockpit, and set it to "false", if its not already, & see if that fizes it.

It also looks lie RPM is not liking that there is no internal model found for the OPT J-HT cockpit..??

[LOG 12:56:02.599] Part Name: OPT J-HT Cockpit (M)
[ERR 12:56:04.902] [RasterPropMonitorComputer]: UpdateLocalCrew() - no internal model!

[ERR 12:56:04.950] [RasterPropMonitorComputer]: UpdateLocalCrew() - no internal model!

[EXC 12:56:05.086] NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

[WRN 12:56:05.613] InternalModel error: Part Crew capacity is 8, but 10 seats are defined in internal model

Also this OPT cockpit:

[LOG 12:32:51.153] Unpacking OPT-J-HT-Sea
[ERR 12:33:20.851] [RasterPropMonitorComputer]: UpdateLocalCrew() - no internal model!

Theres also this err, related to MAS & OPT:

[LOG 12:29:38.467] [FlightIntegrator]: Reloaded drag cube for zeroed cube root part j.6m.cockpit on vessel OPT-J-HT-Sea
[LOG 12:29:38.468] [FlightIntegrator]: Vessel OPT-J-HT-Sea has been unloaded 1.79769313486232E+308, applying analytic temperature 305.203620590636
[WRN 12:29:38.469] BoxColliders does not support negative scale or size.
The effective box size has been forced positive and is likely to give unexpected collision geometry.
If you absolutely need to use negative scaling you can use the convex MeshCollider. Scene hierarchy path "internalSpace/MAS_JHTIVA interior/MAS_ASET_COMM_Radio/model/ASET/ASET_Avionics/ModernPack/ASET_Comm_Radio/ASET_Comm_Radio(Clone)/ASET_Comm_Radio/ASET_COMM_PTT_ColliderObj"

Looks lie there may be some issue, with some MAS modules being added, and it seems to be upsetting the module index on a/some part (s).
The KSP module index is very fragile, unfortunately. When this happens, its usually due to some mod adding/deleting/moving part modules.

There are some other MAS/OPT related errs, as well.

I see you also have RevIVA installed. I had recently come across a patch issue with MAS and RevIVA cfgs, which I have submitted PRs to MAS, that will hopefully fix the issue.
Do me a favor and uninstall RevIVA, and poke the MAS/OPT ivas w/o it installed, then post a new log.

As a final note, the OPT IVAs *are* in sad shape. They do need a lot of work, possibly to the point where they may just not be useable at this time.

Thank you for such a helpful response I will begin this process right away! I usually do my installs manually but this one was through CKAN hence my lack of understanding on my file structures. Thanks for your patience on that and I'll edit this post with relevant updates.

I promise I'm normally more clever than this, but nope the problem was between the chair and keyboard. Thanks for your reply and thanks for the patience! Got this old beast working for now.

Yes OPT is an old timers choice, I have a soft spot for it. I'll post my log anyway because I removed RevIVA to see of any changes.

This is normal. I'm getting this RPM error for every single cockpit in a game as long as I can remember (KSP 1.3 or 1.4) :D

The same deal with negative scale error, it appears because some ASET props have negative scale colliders. Maybe a long time ago there was a version of Unity that supported negative scale, but this error also exists for a while.

I've released MAS 1.3.7 on GitHub.  This release includes Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese localization courtesy @ZhaoFJx, along with some important Module Manager fixes courtesy @Stone Blue.

With this release, I'm formally putting MAS development on hiatus.  I haven't played KSP for over a year.  The work that still needs to happen to get MAS to a fully-featured release isn't something that I can spend time on, so I don't know when/if a MAS 2.0 IVA Boogaloo will happen.

I'd like to thank:

  • @Mihara for developing RPM, which transformed me from a player to a modder.
  • @alexustas for the incredible props - without the vast collection of ASET props, I wouldn't have stayed with modding for so long.  MAS would never have gone as far as it did without the feature requests and props that alexustas made (hopefully, somebody some day will get finish getting the radio navigation props working).
  •  @DeputyLOL, @theonegalen, @snakeru, and a couple of former forum members whose names don't auto-complete for submitting issues, feature requests, and feedback that helped steer MAS development over the years.
  • @Stone Blue for feedback, suggestions, and providing support on the forum, as well as expanding the available props and fixing bugs via PRs on GitHub.
  • @JonnyOThan for keeping RPM and the IVA experience alive.
  • All the other players who provided feedback and bug reports for MAS as it progressed.
