Some more images of WIP texture update stuff, all in very very very different states of work. Keep in mind that the stuff that looks 'flat' (including the Apollo/LEM screenshots yesterday) is because I removed/hide the normal and specularity maps so that I could remake them once the base texture is stable again.

So, I'm planning on actually streaming tonight, continuing my cleanup of old parts and such. I realize that's probably not what everyone wants (they're probably waiting on a certain space station to be finished... or some of the other dozens of things I haven't finished...) but its something that I feel needs to be done. I was experimenting with the Thor tanks earlier and I think the results speak for themselves... Compare to Porkjet's rocket part revamp...

This isn't something you should be using with career, I basically needed confirmation that the Github development update was successful. And yes, Ed Kyle is a fantastic source. I'm in love with the pages there for the never flown variants of Atlas and Titan. He actually just concluded the Thor Booster Variants thread on nasaspaceflight last week, so hopefully we'll start seeing the Never Flown Thor Variants thread soon! http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=40733 EDIT: Also, further work on Skylab is going to be delayed somewhat. I've been spurred into doing a pass on the existing parts, starting with Apollo and the LEM. Stay tuned, I'd like to put on a stream tonight if I get home at a reasonable hour.

Alright, an update for Skylab is available on Github thanks to @Daelkyr. The parts should no longer require WildBlueTools to work, since the functionality has been moved to compatibility patches. @Jso has been working on adding another function to the BDB.dll mini-plugin to allow us to recreate the solar panel mirroring (which makes it so both fixed panels point the same direction) but I believe it might currently be bugged where the visual model switches but the direction that receives the power does not. The mesh switching for some aspects of the main Skylab station module (window covers, the crew tunnel that goes through the instrument unit) should be working as well.

I know what you're talking about - for those that don't know, IRL they try and attach the mounting brackets for side boosters to the interstage sections of the core, which are sturdier than the tank walls. Because the AJ-260 was significantly shorter than even the standard S-IC (even the full length solid), they put auxilary fuel tanks on top of them that pumped into the core tanks, sort of like KSP asparagus staging. This let them extend the length of the boosters up to the interstage between the S-IC and the S-II. As for your question, yes I'd like to be able to offer that level of support but obviously it takes time and there's a lot of stuff going on. For what it's worth, @VenomousRequiem modeled the AJ-260s some months ago and I've partially cleaned up/refined those models. Very nice!

Better? The one you're trying to build is on the far right, the core is all 2.5m in KSP. The 1st stage and boosters should be the exact same height.
-
@Beale I have to say, I think I prefer the more toned down look too. I appreciate the effort to add some color back in but I am not a huge fan of that particular shade of yellow.

@Drakenex that Europa 42u is incorrect. It'd be more like a 2.5m core (with the upper stage being cryogenic) with a full blue streak making up each booster.
-
That is a saucy meme right there. I'll give you $3 for it and no more.

You're late on that. It was a 48 hour meme. I hope you didn't invest too heavily in it when it hit the market.

Tiny babby update, someone on Github very helpfully uploaded some spelling/grammatical corrections for the science definitions. It's up on Github and Spacedock.

@hraban why do the Neutron screenshots look different? Did you upgrade to the Unity 5 editor and so the lighting is different?

And @Workable Goblin!!!
