My sister's a nihilistic ass who hates anything to do with anything. And she is perhaps the worst person to be in a car with. And I had to be with her for two hours talking about "how we should all just kill ourselves" and "I'm too stupid to get a job". She's NOT stupid, far from it in fact, she just refused to put in the work to find opportunities and now she's taking it all out on us. Not that I can say anything. She yells at me, locks herself in her room, and then comes out an hour later with a phony apology. And then the cycle repeats. Sorry to rant to a bunch of strangers on the internet, I just feel you all are the only people I can talk about this to.

Beyond: Kerbalkind's History of Space Exploration

I designed a new seal for Beyond, as the old one was literally just the Retro flag but recolored and "BEYOND" written over KSP. What do you think? -

Sorry to double post, but with aesthetics you don't have to use procedural image generators. You can just look up old vintage NASA promotional posters during the Space Race. There are plenty to find. Stuff like this. I feel NASAWave would be very similar in its whole general vibe to Sovietwave but more American, and really exclusively covering feelings of retrofuturism.

I’m aware that this necro posting, but there is much I have to say about this. Now, biological causes probably wouldn’t cause such an event. And natural causes probably wouldn’t destroy it, but this depends on the size of the civilization. War would probably be a the most likely cause of an extinction event. Now, an interspecies war wouldn’t cause an extinction, as they would definitely want to keep themselves alive. However, if they were discovered by another species, then they would be screwed. Even if it the discovered species was completely peaceful, the invaders wouldn’t understand. Instead, they will want to eliminate the species all together, just to be safe ya know? The weapons they’d use would probably be way out of our comprehension. They could be able to blow up stars, or boil atmospheres away. If this empire has had a significant amount of time to develop or evolve, then they could destroy the discovered civilization before they even knew what hit them. It’s either that, or the kraken is real. This is far fetched, but we’re talking about interstellar civilizations so we can get crazy here.

You’re apparently not the first person to think of this: I personally think this more synthwave-Sovietwave mix is more fitting to NASAwave. NASA themselves have also created NASAwave music with all of their little films showcasing the Artemis Program. This song in particular comes to mind:

It looks like you have quite a few SAS units on the side there. Is that why it's consuming so much power? Yay!- 217 replies

Holy god that's a big space station. I looks like it's bigger than SISS at this point. -

We at Raptor Aerospace are ecstatic to have been chosen! While the MOSS is basic, it’s both cheap, reliable, and designed with frequency in mind. We hope to work closely with KASA on more projects in the future!- 217 replies

'HOPE' HABITAT MODULE - YEAR 3, DAY 373 Today is an exciting day, as Kerman Station will see yet another module added! Under contruction since the launch of Expedition 4, the Hope hab module will bring some much needed room to Kerman Station. On it is also room for further expansion, and for the addition of another airlock. Kerman Station is rapidly taking form! It's also a rather... melancholic day for Beyond. Hope will be the last flight of the mighty Eve II rocket. The Eve II has perhaps been Beyond's most successful rocket, flying countless mission with no failures. However, as rockets and payloads are advancing, the Eve II is rapidly becoming obsolete. The reusable RBS is just as powerful as the Eve II, and cheaper to launch. Most if not all of the engineers who have worked on the Eve II are watching the launch today, to say goodbye to the rocket they have worked wit for so long. "Successful liftoff on the Eve II! And krackenspeed! Thank you for the many successful years of service." - Gene Kerman "We are go for orbital insertion." - Bobak Kerman Shortly after entering orbit, the module preps itself for a rendezvous with Kerman Station. After a few orbits and a plane change, the Hope module fires its engines for the space station. "MESU, and we are now on our way to Kerman Station" - Gene Kerman "Final docking procedures in place. Docking port alignment 0.0o, approach velocity .5 m/s." Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of the full assembly of Kerman Station. I did press the F1 key, but I must've not pressed hard enough or accidentally deleted the picture. Either way, the docking was a success, and Kerman Station is finally, FINALLY symmetrical again. -

It sounds crazy, but there was a proposal that would later come into fruition- albeit after Sputnik 1. This proposal was made by none other than Wernher Von Braun himself, and it said that if they used the Redstone Rockets the United States already had available, then they could have a satellite up by '56. The satellite designed by Von Braun and his team was the Explorer satellite. However, when proposed to U.S., they said "Nah man, the Navy's got this. Vanguard's doing just fine!" Explorer would later be built, and became America's first satellite on January 1st, 1958, but the U.S. would still remain second behind the Soviets. But what if Von Braun did succeed in getting his proposal through? What if Explorer 1 became the first satellite to orbit the Earth? Would the U.S. have an advantageous position, and land men on the Moon earlier than Apollo? Or would America soon toss it to the side, and the Soviets would prevail?

EXPEDITION 3 RETURN - YEAR 3, DAY 372 CREW COMMANDER: Debo Kerman MISSION SPECIALIST 1: Danfal Kerman MISSION SPECIALIST 2: Albert Kerman "Expedition 3 re-entry course set for KSC coast CAPCOM." - Debo Kerman "Roger that, Expedition 3. Krackenspeed." - Gene Kerman After half a year in orbit, the time comes for expedition to fire its engine back for home. Coming back with it is mounds of data, each important for advancement both in space and on Kerbin. Among the most important samples are the crew themselves. Medics, physicians, and scientists will examine the crew to understand how long term exposure to radiation and microgravity, both of which are important for future domestic and interplanetary expeditions, effect a Kerbal. The crew do not look forward to what the word "examine" entails. The RE-J10 fires retrograde, bringing Expedition 3 back home. "Main chute deploy. Man, it's good to be home." - Debo Kerman -

I'm doing another Unites States first run in Mars Horizon, and I finished Era I today! On the launchpad is a Mercury-Redstone, capable of taking a Human to orbit. Somehow. I don't know this is an alternate history let's roll with it. And in September of 1960, Runa Braun became the first person ever to go into space and enter orbit, safely returning to Earth later that day. Eat that, Soviet Union! Next goal: Mars, Venus, and complex crewed missions.
