Home Sweet Home - Caelus Edition (UNRELEASED)
NexusHelium replied to NexusHelium's topic in KSP2 Mod Development
probably cause some of the modding community is finally getting back on its toes a tiny little bit -
The plan is to make everything functional at some point, yes. And for now, yes it'll just be the ring to test out the implementation of a gravity ring and a colony building block to see if a mod of this scale can actually be done in ksp2 Eh... to be honest I got more time right now then I have the right to be unproductive with

well i already have ksp2. and i'm not funding it.... I'm modding it

Home Sweet Home - Caelus Edition (UNRELEASED)
NexusHelium replied to NexusHelium's topic in KSP2 Mod Development
Well to be honest, after 0.2.2 there’s not actually a ton of terrible bugs in the game so it’s not a super high priority. Main focus right now if I recall is mainly just features and performance. I’m sure someone will tackle it someday though. -
Home Sweet Home - Caelus Edition (UNRELEASED)
NexusHelium replied to NexusHelium's topic in KSP2 Mod Development
Basically yeah lol That’s the plan -
Introducing part one (or maybe two depending on when the ground version gets released) of Home Sweet Home - also known as SpaceKolonies or WHY THE HECK DID THEY STOP THE AMAZING GAME BEFORE COLONIES KSP2 Orbital Colonies Mod THIS MOD IS IN DEVELOPMENT AND IS NOT YET RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC Have you ever wanted colonies in KSP2 but realized there was no one left at the studio left to implement it? Well then I have good news for you! Starting soon(tm) a colonies mod will be added to Kerbal Space Program 2, aiming to recreate and expand on Nate Simpsons and the rest of Intercept Game's vision Features/Plans - Gravity Rings (current lineup gets you 8) - Various "building block" like parts to create custom buildings and make your own structures - MOAR HUBS (pressurized for crew, of course) - Basically all the parts seen and promised during development - A system to allow you to build and launch rockets from designated colonies - Compatibility with @The Space Peacock's incoming ISRU mod (assuming we can both get the code working) - Larger than large existing parts (like solar panels, normal panels. etc.) - More science parts (current plans more than double the current science experiment roster) - More primary and secondary missions to fit in with what most likely would have happened, had this been an actual update Screenshots NOT MUCH CURRENTLY BUT WE'RE GETTING THERE Hopefully when this releases we can get the modding community back on it's toes BTW if you have any suggestions or ways you envision KSP 2 colonies that you would want to see put in the game feel free to put them in the comments! This early in development I definitely need some ideas!

Yeah. That's my running theory. A skeleton crew to put out that new game in whatever state they needed it in. I don't got much hope KSP2 will continue official development under them, but there's a small chance.

Release KSP2 Release Notes - Update v0.2.2.0
NexusHelium replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
nuh uh -
I mean... there's me and a couple of other people. Nothing is public right now, but my main focus rn is to add colonies in two mods (surface and orbital), but I'm also modding in some new engines like the nuclear pulse drives and some 5m engines. Foonix is currently working on performance optimizations and whatnot and The Space Peacock is making "basic" resource gathering and some other stuff like engines There's not much of us but we're chipping away at the roadmap one piece at a time I think the overall goal here is to spark modding again and see if we can get some of the legends to make some stuff to further improve the game but that's a long shot and we might just have to do everything ourselves... We're getting there

I love this musical about as much as I love the journey this game brought

What’s the point of removing something that wasn’t there in the first place?

Thanks to everyone at IG and KSP2 for everything you did for the game and the community. You pushed through the hardships until lots of promise showed, and created one of my favorite games of all time. It may be over for now, but you guys can stand strong behind Jeb knowing you brought something truly great to Kerbal and it's legacy. I've been there since the beginning and showed support and hope until the very end, and what a journey it's been. I don't know what the future for Kerbal holds, but I can say for certain I am happy with where we are now. Thanks for the memories IG. Appreciate you guys <3

Techo's (Stock) Planet Revamp V0.10
NexusHelium replied to Mrpasta44's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Wow this mod looks great! … From orbit lol. I must be having issues with the install because the surface isn’t rendering for me. But other than that it really does look amazing I have a ton of mods but none I know of that change the terrain textures or surface.- 112 replies

One of my favorite parts about this game was, hot take I know, but the music ( ) and the planets from orbit As someone who unprofessionally works in sound and audio design, I pay attention to the music a lot more in things than I probably should, but it wasn't always that way. Before KSP2, I hadn't really gotten into audio design. I had dabbled with it and made a couple of songs and SFX for things, sure. But it wasn't really all there. After I listened to the sound design and music in KSP2, however, I promptly turned my head that direction and said "Hey wait I want to do that" and so here I am, composing music and working on sound design for various personal projects. It also inspired me to start an entire unofficial OST for the KSP2 interstellar planets that, at the time, would most likely be coming out in a year or two. All of those songs I eventually posted, something I had never done before. It completely changed one of my hobbies to be something I dedicate a lot more time into and I'm grateful for that, as working with sound and music has been really fun It started off as me like 5 years ago making a Zelda arrangement on a free website I founds, to garageband, to a lot more tools and freedom to make whatever I want. And the planets from orbit are just gorgeous

Implenting KSP 2 Exoplanets into KSP 1 [DEVLOG/DISCUSSION]
NexusHelium replied to wpetula's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Holy moly @wpetula these later renditions are incredible! I remember you sharing something on the discord once but these later ones are certainly better. This might not really be in any of your areas of expertise but scatterer and EVE (especially with the volumetrics) would be fantastic for it graphics wise. But overall this looks incredible so far. And hey... if you ever need music for Glumo or the other planets... feel free to call me up- 54 replies
