  1. I think this is because they're looking for firespitter control surfaces, from what I can see in the contract window. At least, mine is if that's any help.

  3. I'll load it up and see what happens Edit: Everything appears to be working on a cursory examination. Electric engines drain fuel and EC, the small rtg works, etc. The only 'problem' is that the panels and RTG are still under the 'utility' tab instead of being reorganized under "electric"
  4. Is the magnet on the crane less powerful than the inline magnet? I can't seem to pick up an otter pod with the ballast dumped with it.
  5. Is there a gallery with all the individual parts listed somewhere?
  6. Road is 6m wide, which is apparently the world standard. So unless you're building some landkreuzer it should fit.

  8. Can we discuss craft here? My craft hovers fine as long as I don't go more than 10 meters off the ground. If I try to go any higher, the thrust engines go full throttle, and it immediately flips over and crashes. Is there a TCA setting I should be looking at or a build problem? Down pointing engine group is set to thrust, rear pointing engines are set to maneuver. VTOL Assist and Flight Stabilizer are on.
  9. Cool, thanks. I don't know if I'm up for messing with unity physics, so the rock pile idea sounds a lot better. I'll check out Lack's mod, forgot about that.
  10. Hey, I'm making a rover test track and would like to know if I can use your road segments? I wanted to have a road going around most of it and it would be a lot better for memory usage to share stuff between mods.

      You don't have the raw files somewhere do you? I was going to build everything in 3ds and then just import it all welded together

      yeah I think I have it saved in a big archive somewhere on my computer. I can send them to you in a few hours. what format would you like them in? currently they are .blend

  11. Can I use the Kerbinside assets in making my own Konstructs static?

    I think it would be neat to have a shared repository of common assets that people can use to make their buildings and sites with that would keep things consistent and use less memory. There was something like this for the old kerbtown plugin if I remember correctly but I don't think I have them saved anywhere.

  12. I'm making a hex shaped static for rover testing, how big are you making your hexes? It would be nice if we could standardize things somewhat.
  13. A while back I made a small 'mars yard' type static for Kerbtown. I never really updated it and to be honest kind of hoped somebody else would just run with the idea, but that didn't ever happen. Several versions later, I've decided to just go and do it myself. I have a few ideas of what to do, but suggestions and requests will help really complete things, I think. @SpannerMonkey(smce) was kind enough to convert the old model to work in 1.1 for me: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21315217/roveryard.zip Now, it doesn't exactly look very good; being a model I threw together as quickly as I could at the time. The new version of Unity was not exactly kind to the normal maps but it's pretty much serviceable if you don't mind looking at it. What I'd like to do is rework the whole thing with actual planning first, I'd like some input from the forums first. I'd like to make the whole thing a hex shape to fit with the rest of the KSC facilities, does anybody know about how big the hexes for the research facility and other things are? Depending on how big it ends up, there could be a whole lot of free space to put stuff in. I've got a very basic idea mapped out here: Does anybody know how to use the existing KSP textures? If those could be used for everything it would decrease the memory footprint by a whole lot.

  15. Awesome. I do the same thing, I hate blender with a passion. I'm starting a new one at the moment, would this be the place to talk about it or should I make a new thread?
  16. Wew those normal maps didn't turn out so well. Thanks a lot for trying it out for me, I wanted to eventually make a new one that was around that size to begin with. Is it just as simple as making the model and opening it in Unity then?
  17. That's odd that there would be loose verts, but it was converted through unity 4. I've still got the original files somewhere too so I can start from that if it has to be done again.

  19. I made a 'mars yard' type rover test area way back for the first statics plugin, are there instructions on converting it to konstructs? I was hoping somebody else would make one, but nobody else really did and I kind of want to port it to the newest version of KSP.
  20. From what I've seen so far most of the stock wheel problems seem to be 'fixed' in the 1.2. How 'fixed' they are is another story though.
  21. I have a kerbal style Reliant modeled from waaaaay back, if you can't find one send me a note, I can try doing IVAs for it. Are the parts modular? Could I take two cars, stack the bodies on top of each other, put say, two V8s in the front and raise it up on tractor tires?
  22. Did anybody find a workaround for this? I'm getting the same effect. I mean, I could just avoid it by not going under water for now, but...
  23. Stuff like crystal clusters would be cool for scatter objects, Unfortunately there's not much other than rocks to be seen IRL on other planets so far. Now, all the KSP scatter rocks are just smooth weathered boulders, which doesn't make too much sense. Maybe some less weathered looking ones, with sharp edges or visible strattification? maybe some that look like meteorites on atmospheric bodies?
  24. I had a look through diagrams of the (known) spy sats, it doesn't really look like one of those. OAO seems to be the closest match.
