I did not in any way mean to imply I was impatient. I actually personally find the word "please" to be far more indicative of impatience than it's absence. And the whole "obliging to my preferences" thing was a joke because I really want it on YouTube because you can download full videos from it, instead of 15-minute chunks like from Twitch. That was a complaint about Twitch, not RoverDude. If in any way I came across as demanding or impatient, I apologize. I was merely stating my preference.

I just saw this announcement post that seems to have been posted a mere 2 threads after my thread. -

Superfluous J replied to Superfluous J's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't know about that. I'm just saying, 70 replies in and this thread hasn't even been looked at sideways. I strongly suspect that's because we're all awesome and have kept it civil. Perhaps the thread/post you saw was inflammatory and was removed for that reason. -
I too would really like documentation. Or at least that twitch stream posted on YouTube where I can more easily download it see it in a fashion that is more obliging to my preferences.

Ironic quote from that link: The departure of the eight developers was also posted to the official forums, but was taken down soon after. Our source suggests posts about the topic are being actively deleted. I'm not saying they're wrong about everything, but I'm also saying bring some salt with you when you read it. -

Haha I more meant that I was surprised that a forums user other than myself hadn't beat me to the post -

You don't need much from programmers for that. -

That's a very good point. Just the other day I mentioned to someone that 1.2 feels like the first update worthy of the 1.0 moniker. -
KSP expansion packs confirmed
Superfluous J replied to Gaarst's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I voted "Yes but only for big things" even though I think Multiplayer should be in the base game. Not because I want it (I don't particularly) but because you can't just snap in a 'multiplayer module' and leave it at that. It affects every part of the game and the game must be coded around it. My examples of expansion packs worth paying for (which I believe I too would get for free) would be a full new solar system for $15, or a new gas giant with rings and 4-6 moons for $5. -

I know that several of these guys have (had? I'll freely admit I don't know any of them well though I consider several of them "internet friends") full time real jobs, and it is at least possible that some of them are leaving because 1.2 proved to be too much actual work for a part time job. I've quit jobs for similar reasons in the past. The optimist in me hopes that's all this is. I tend to advise caution in these situations. I must admit though that I'm kind of concerned. -
I'm surprised that this was posted on Reddit an hour ago and hasn't been reposted here yet. submitted an hour ago by NathanKellRSS Dev/Former Dev All good things must come to an end, and so it is for us. It is time for each of us to move on from Squad. Kerbal Space Program is an incredible game and has truly been a joy to create. We have greatly enjoyed working together with such a tightly-knit, professional, and talented development team, and with such a wonderful community. Over the last update cycle we’ve taken KSP to new heights and achieved great things with such a small team. We’ve finished work on update 1.2 and when Squad releases it, it will be a product of which we can be truly proud. We hope you share that opinion and we hope you enjoy playing it as much as we loved creating it. Thank you all for the incredible community support. So long, and thanks for all the snacks! Signed, in no particular order, your Kerbal developers Mike (Mu), Bill (Taniwha), Nathanael (NathanKell), Sébastien (Sarbian), Jim (Romfarer), Brian (Arsonide), Chris (Porkjet), Nathan (Claw)

Kerbal Space Program 1.2: Loud & Clear release date and more!
Superfluous J replied to UomoCapra's topic in 2016
1.2 is easily the best version of the game already. Can't wait to see the game I've been enjoying for weeks become "complete."- 418 replies

I'm having Infernal-robotics-esque problems with docking ports and the "compress parts" ports. Here's my little robotug after being afflicted: [defunct site link removed by moderator] The circled thing is my tug. All radially attached things shifted left about 0.625 meters (the width of the probe). This happened after it detatched from the docking port you see in the picture, which is part of a long I-beam that I attached to a ship on the left with the Konstruction ports. I suspect if I had detached the probe first, all would have been fine. At least on the probe. [defunct site link removed by moderator] (zip file contains 2 saves that are essentially equal, and the output_log.txt) EDIT: Random thought: Maybe they translated inward toward the ship when I did the "compress"? Like, they "compress"ed twice while the probe body only "compress"ed once? Or perhaps they "compress"ed but the probe body did not?

Looks like you need to rebuild. One important difference between the ports is that the Konstruction ones can't be surface mounted. Likely because when they weld together things, it must be on an attachment node.

This. Is. Awesome. I literally was going to launch a ship today that could benefit from those ports, but ran out of time. Now I can reconoodle it before launch!

KSP needs more purpose.
Superfluous J replied to Pixel Kola's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I am hopeful that the entire "part upgrade" idea will achieve this. -
KSP needs more purpose.
Superfluous J replied to Pixel Kola's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I've actually thought about this a lot, and have come to the conclusion that KSP is an exploration game, but not in the way you expect. In KSP, you're not exploring the Sun* system, you're exploring the concepts of spaceflight. You're exploring the world of Hohmann transfers, the rocket equation and the laws of planetary motion. You're also exploring rendezvous, docking, gravity assists (whether you want to or not sometimes. I'm looking at YOU, Ike), pinpoint landings... All that. And the game for those things has no leveling up, no tech tree. You progress on that yourself. The problem isn't that KSP isn't an exploration game, it's that you've explored it. Another way I look at it is that KSP isn't even a game at all, but a hobby. You don't "beat" a train set. You don't "win" at camping. They are experiences you enjoy and you do them just because you enjoy them. If that's not enough, you need to find a new hobby or find a way to enjoy this hobby again. *I refuse to call it Kerbol.- 47 replies

How many things do you use the wrong way?
Superfluous J replied to 322997am's topic in KSP1 Discussion
But a service bay is funner. And lighter. But mostly funner. EDIT: "Funner" is too a word! -
Yeah it doesn't affect anything and (almost) nobody even sees it. The only thing removing it would save is (a tiny bit of) bandwidth That said, I'm all for removing it, as I am for all totally useless features.

To Mod Devs who release their mods during Pre-Release
Superfluous J replied to Stone Blue's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I release mods for 1.2. I can't bother to recompile for multiple versions. I accept bug reports. It's nice to do. I don't fix bugs quickly. I'm not very good at modding. None of these things have much to do with each other.
