  1. While I agree wholeheartedly with this, I'm also choosing to not pay $50 for it right now because I don't think it's worth it. I tried to find reasons but ... yeah they're not there right now.
  2. Interesting. I use r2ModMan for several games, and would happily toss KSP2 in there as well. CKAN's great and all but r2ModMan is quickly becoming my main way to start games.
  3. This is the modding subforum. Please don't dissuade people from discussing modding here. I too am interested in the levels to which KSP planets can be modified.
  4. I have ONE question before I drop my 50 bones on the game. I'm not going to say it will literally be the deciding factor but... well I'm asking it before buying the game so... How easy is it to modify the axial tilt of planets? In particular, could I do it RIGHT NOW without a mod to help me, by editing some config file or other?
  5. My first 2 thoughts are: You should turn East to orbit. In the default setup, that's to the right. Are you sure you didn't accidentally rotate your ship in the VAB so "right" is actually "North"? EDIT: Oh, that link is an image, not a ship file. Looking at it, my first guess is you have way too much power so the ship is probably uncontrollable due to its high acceleration and velocity. Try throttling WAY down, so your TWR is closer to 1.5 max, or (better) remove engines until the VAB TWR shows <1.5 (but > 1 because then you won't lift off at all) And if that all doesn't work, take a full screen (so we can see the entire UI) shot of your ship in flight as it starts to lose control.
  6. It's only MOSTLY dead. Which is good because with totally dead, there's only one thing you can do. Rifle through its pockets for loose change.
  7. He said somewhere in that video that he had problems and OBS crashed, and he didn't notice it until later. They only had 90 minutes, apparently. He didn't SOUND crushed, but if I were him, and flew thousands of miles to wait for hours or days to get only 90 minutes to play a game I've been anticipating for 3 years, and I found that over half my recording time had been lost to the ether... yeah I'd be crushed.
  8. They're adding what look like very easy to digest tutorials for space flight. I've seen no indication that they aren't also going to add a few for air flight. I've not seen that they WILL add them, but it's possible you'll actually be able to both have your cake and eat it too. And by cake, I mean wings. And by eat it, I mean... uh... fly... I guess.
  9. I'm excited to be a small part in the forming of the sequel to my all-time favorite game - which I was also fortunate to have a small part in the forming of.
  10. Speaking as a (very amateur) part modder, I can guarantee you stock parts got changed ALL THE TIME which caused my part mod to need fixing ALL THE TIME. I then put a ton of work into making it so my part got its information from the game, so I'd never have to fix it again. Until they changed the game in a way I didn't expect which broke my part AGAIN. And before you think "sure that was a decade ago" no the most recent change was in - like - 1.10
  11. Yes and if the texture moved, or better yet rotated through a couple dozen images to loop the motion of each individual wave in the image, it would not look totally 100% unrealistic in the game (video from the pre-release that I watched) when pasted on the waves moving over the surface. Really and truly, the ocean would look better if that water texture they had used was instead just dark blue.
  12. The one graphical thing i've not heard anyone talk about is in one video, the capsule splashed down in the water and there were both waves (yay!) *and* the water texture had waves on it. It was like someone had draped plastic wrap with a water texture over the ocean.
  13. There is a (thankfully small) age range where nothing will entice you to do ANYTHING. The best shot you have to get their interest is to strictly forbid them from playing it.
  14. Also it's not like turning on AA will magically make everything in the game do AA. It's quite possible the programmers forgot - or also (like the rest of us) didn't notice it didn't affect those parts of the UI.
  15. I 100% agree. Poorly built rockets should not wobble about like noodles. They should explode, and you should have to go back to the VAB and fix your poorly designed rocket until it's structurally sound enough to fly. Or you could just do that in the first place and let the people who like to over-engineer their rockets and have some wobbliness, have their fun too. Yeah I changed my mind they should keep it the way it is.
  16. Sounds like Cunningham's Law. In case the image doesn't come across, here's a link to the site I found it on: https://br.ifunny.co/picture/murphy-law-murphy-s-law-states-that-the-best-way-8CQeizeZ8
  17. I don't recall any re-entry images/videos except one KSP1/KSP2 image that showed re-entry heating compared between the two games. The only 3 things I can say about that image are: It for sure showed re-entry effects. They looked a lot better than the KSP1 effects. I am not at all sure it wasn't a trolling image. I have no idea how to find it now to post it.
  18. I'm going to address the subject line and not the subject of tutorials specifically. I can't speak on them as they're not aimed at me. My opinions on how tutorials are and should be are strong and could easily cause arguments I don't want to have in this thread. Regarding Scott's video. I was pretty unimpressed with the game as presented, to be blunt about it. I'm still not sure when I'm going to buy the game, but this video at BEST didn't improve my desire to buy it day-one. If anything, it gave me enough reasons to wait until at least the first major update (Which according to the road-map is Science mode?)
  19. I don't use MechJeb regularly but I don't recall it saying anything near to this. I do recall it having more options than"Continue" though.
  20. I would be shocked if there was no debug menu in KSP2 similar to the one in KSP1. I would also be shocked if there was no Hyperedit-like mod released within a week or so of KSP2 dropping. I would be doubly shocked if both of these things ended up being true.
  21. Yeah it's a reference to flat-earth "common sense" failing. I doubt the story is strictly true, but here's what I found about it on Wikipedia.
