  1. Is that all civilian population needs? Maybe it could be repurposed. Everytime i look into it i get distracted/frustrated and eventually give up.
  2. I want ths too @Souptime so that kerbal spawning could be agnostic to the life support mechanics - you can use whatever LS mod you want. I have a couple of ideas on this, beacuse I don't fancy the mechanic on Jeb and Val go to Mün and have babies that are full grown and specialised kerbonauts a few weeks later. Full mod: Have a colonist resource. This would mean setting up a colony say a really heavy and large part that is an arcology. Say 10,000 tons. You must populate to a certain level of the colonist resource, special large crew cabins that are colonist 'tanks'. Once at a certain level, colonists can be recruited via a right click on the part. This was is not reproduction (as we assume colonists reproduce themselves). EL: Petition Taniwha to introduce a spawning mechanism for kerbals in EL. I have asked for this in the past but it was a no. If more people ask then it could be considered, even if someone uses the functionality in their own add on and not in base EL. The 'build' option could be a recruit utilising something like a colonist resource as in #1, or certain number of resources to at least construct the spacesuit. Use Contract Configurator to spawn your kerbals. I have tried this and got frustrated. This could use a time mechanic, or whatever you want potentially similar to #1. Have a special part where they appear, like a repurposed hitchhiker. This would mean recruiting kerbals from Mission Control. So that's it really. My head canon suggests that kerbals live in a extrademension and only appear on kerbin to have a 'lived' experience, which they can do whenever they want - but only on kerbin (I turn off the rescue contracts for immersion). My latest thought is that if you don't want colonist options your spawning could be opening a 'portal' to recruit a new kerbonaut.
  3. I'd forgotten about these. These are great. Especially the EVA kerbals and the camera. Is it possible to run these at the same time? Like with HullCamVDS and the first person camera? I guess with action groups it would be possible to switch cameras on and off but with the first person camera this woukd be great. And viewing internals from within a pod as well. Thanks for collecting these together.
  4. Yea the moon dust. Gotta be a killer right? Perhaps electrostatic charging might help. I need to look into that. I'd never use pumped hydro storage because of the lunar gravity means less dense water and the issues you suggest. Water is scarce too. Don't waste it on energy storage! The gravity is a meh point though with the brick battery. Just load the winches with more mass. If the mass is coming from the moon itself it won't take much to set up. If you are making blocks though you could build this in a tall tower or even into the ground and 'vacuum' the dust out as it settles. The only moving parts are at the top. Getting the initial setup there is going to be a mission though. Damn your maths and high intelligence.

  9. I could. But not in the near future due to RL. You aren't the first person to ask though so im sure I'll get round to it. It would help if someone could give me a list of the different rocket 'types' so that i dont have to go work that out. Then i can assign the types to a tier. Peace
  10. Hi everyone, Is a curved screen for KSP worth it? I have a rare opportunity to get a new screen, is getting a 1440 x 2560 one. But tossing up between flat and curved. It's an update from and 1080 laptop screen. Please advise. Thanks! Peace.
  11. I was tired when i replied. Sorry! One option to stop sliding on bases is to use KAS to attached a landing camp. But this is better as it doesnt required the bulk of that mod, and can be switched off when needed... as in it is temporary. Peace.
  12. This is excellent. I think it would be a good temp measure for rovers and such, and then bases (with KAS/KIS) could have launchclamps added to them so that rovers could undock from bases. Peace.
  13. Dammit Jim, I'm a priest, not a graphic digital artist... my stuff is done in a picture of MS paint and paint.net. Oh, and i use the old MS Office Picture Viewer from around 10 years ago. But the in game view too washed oout. Need to make it pop. Don't forget the poor sods that upload to youtube and the downgrading of quality that they get. I'm aim for the happy medium kinda guy on sizes of textures. My laptop, whilst 16GB RAM was bought six years ago. It was good then and still copes with most stuff. But I don't like to push it. TBH I'd pick and mix what you offer in the download - when I install EVE for example, I remove any city lights. Kerbin as Eden-esk garden is closer to my head canon. Peace.

  15. Pluto has in fact cleared its neighborhood by collecting adopting a twin and adopting some other moons.

  18. I have to say that would be awesome. For my oldest kid's 4th birthday I wrote a book about him going to the moon with Val and Bill. It rhymed and everything. Screenshots of the trip, and his head pasted over the stand-in 3rd kerbal. It would be awesome if there was a mod to be able to have more human like heads that I could stylise as my kids so that when they play, they can play as themselves. I'm surprised the my little pony heads still work? Do don't they. That apparently is a really deep hack of the system but it goes back well before 1.0. It was developed by a chap in Russia from memory. Peace.

  20. Wait you can change kerbal head shape/sizes?!?! Oh you mean texture file sizes. I'll just go hide in the corner again. Actually i reckon aiming for 1080p is enough. Many gaming laptops still keep this as standard. Not many would be playing ksp on a 8k monitor, so if toull support only 2 the 1080 and 1440 would be fine.

  22. I'd make some minor tweaks Mün would be pushed out to require a 12 hour (2 day) of 18 hour (3 day) transfer with a minimal Hahmann transfer maneuver. Also increase inclination to 6 degrees (what Minmus is currently). With closeness and the large SOI, getting there shouldn't be too difficult from an equatorial Kerbin orbit still. Minmus increase inclination, and give some eccentricity. Make the periapsis and apoapsis the descending and ascending nodes too. Gives players practice on lining up transfer windows. Jool system, rearrange such as the suggestion from Principa. Namely Bop to orbit retrograde to the system and the three lrager inner moons to have their orbits tweaked. I'm not suggesting Principa, only the Jool system tweaked. More radical ideas Minmus gets moved to Eeloo. This just makes sense to be honest. A Pluto/Charon analogue. Move Gilly to Duna. I'm a little cooler on this idea but only in that Eve just becomes much harder without the refueling orbital outpost. Peace.
  23. This is very cool. I would like to ask if it were possible to have the VAB workers not all monotone though, but it looks like there are only two models? Also the hands in for the staff... lol. It is a feature, not a bug! I'm going to use this. Peace.
