Potential I'd the root of the problem. KSP2 had potential, just not enough to justify continued developement. The idea that some other developer will pick this back up is cray to me. Those initiated in tech development unilaterally agree that picking up a massive chunk of code without access to the people who wrote it.. is a complex and hopelessly uphill battle. If they were going to continue development... they would have kept some developers

Negative things about the game, development, and the silence
Fizzlebop Smith replied to Izny's topic in KSP2 Discussion
There is a project we are working on M-24-D722-b. We provide a contracted product and service. If my customer approached me with requests for specific information regarding the product. As a liason between the investment firm that owns (my) company & customer, I am responsible for communicating accurate information to the customer. I can use circular answers, deflection & even outright lie in order to assuage customer concerns. If I am really good at my job at string this customer along through the engineering approvals and a few benchmarks dates.. incan submit some hefty invoices that my Boss will love me for. I know based on the way things are processing that it is a complete and utter [@%@&] show. Product defects, lack of direction among production staff, 4 extra weeks at engineering approval with a series of RFI / review exchanges, delays in material receipt, best practices are not being used language of my boss has changed in regard to the project. I do what I am asked by my boss. My company loves me and the customer is quite surprised when use some legal loop holes in the contract language to force them to accept this behavior. Oh did I mention that I am also in charge of the project as a whole. Now the angry customer is playing golf with all the other customers that aren't angry yet... but have been treated similiarly. Now the majority of my bug customers will no do business with the company I work for. I am fired to appease the customers. I know there are some differences in circumstance. I do not work in software development. But I do accept responsibility for my actions and understand my own complicity in creating the situation I am in. If I were a bit more narcissistic, I could blame by boss for asking me to behave in deceitful manner. I can blame the customer for not understanding or being patient enough. Sometimes there are not easy choices. I was told once in my youth, " you are allowed a bad day, maybe a bad week. If you have a bad month or year, you need to be doing something different" This was regarding managing workflow and deadlines. -

Release KSP2 Release Notes - Update v0.2.2.0
Fizzlebop Smith replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
So that new driver updates won't render the game unplayable. There won't be any effort made toward the road map or fixing issues with the base code. -
mag boots for ksp 1
Fizzlebop Smith replied to StarKerbol's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The fact that my kerbal can leap from a deorbitting craft 1000 meters above the surface of the Mun... impact Munar surface between 20-40 M/S and ... stick like glue. Kerbal Grav boots are one of the most aggravating aspects of development for me. I miss Kerbals bouncing into the air several times before rolling to a stop... or frantically trying to activate your EVA jetpack to prevent tragedy. -
Release KSP2 Release Notes - Update v0.2.2.0
Fizzlebop Smith replied to Intercept Games's topic in KSP2 Dev Updates
You were right. 3rd times the charm? I'm sad -
This was at least partially due to the treatment of the developers working on the game.. and the community at large. The modding community was a bit appalled at the way they were {snip} canned after being led to believe their horse would finish the race.

There is no way people can realistically derive a date from the quoted text. They still refuse to admit closure of a studio touting more than a decade without a single employee. Why would anyone expect accountability for a single project. I have to believe that the OP of the steam thread was being a troll. I cannot fathom an inability to parse legal speak from "update dropping 8/3/ 2024

This last part, where malfeasance on behalf of the company can void those tructural systems people abuse elsewhere is a beautiful thing. If you steal 1000$ you are a felon If you steal $100,000 you are a savvy business person

Wonder what happen to original KSP after KSP2 failure?
Fizzlebop Smith replied to Pawelk198604's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yep. You're right. The only real spike to players count was at launch, when people still had hope for the sequel. Stand Corrected Player counts steadily fall after that and seem like it effectively slew its predecessor. Litte green guys must be Sith -
Negative things about the game, development, and the silence
Fizzlebop Smith replied to Izny's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I too weep for the plight of the once courageous (and usually stupid) Kerbals. The lack of Rosters showing the deceased, no mission specialists that you grow found of after EVA related missions, no hiring / selection process. My career playthroughs also have attachments form. I have built installations because the first Kerbal touching down died in glory. The lack of comnet led exploration was my biggest disappointment. I wanted to discover anomalies through scanning and be prompted to search further I wanted some missions that promoted build up and climax. Not one pretty asset after another. I think their attempt at career was beyond lackluster. Someone somewhere on the team was convinced Exploration was the game mode to answer all playstyles. Instead.. they turned a sandbox with no wrong way to play.. into KSP2. -
How do you think KSP2's story would have ended?
Fizzlebop Smith replied to RileyHef's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I was also, hoping all monuments combined would unlock the first interstellar tech node. I like the monuments... but not how they were implemented. I think they should have suffered the ravages of time a bit and toned down the cheese in the dialogue. I did not feel like an explorer.. but rather a throttle jockey looking for the next marker. The way approached missions and these particular discovers really irked me. I wanted a slower pace with crumbled discoveries leading to more signals via comnet sweeps leading to anomalous reading that pointed to big discoverables that all touched on an overall narrative. I wanted science near these to propel lore and story... ugh. -

Actually excited about the future of KSP 2

10-4. Will do. I was almost as excited for the AMA as I was for KSP2 launch. Seems dumpster fires are allowed to burn out on their own. -

KSP1 New Career Mode Mod Suggestions
Fizzlebop Smith replied to ahmetyag3's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Aside From the Visual Packs.. Do Some research Bc some are not cross compatible with one another. With the new clouds I dropped Astonomers and spectra. I get most of my enjoyment from the immersion mods that add to the career experience. Once I get out of work I'll cull a list down to what I really love most and upload. At work now but wanted to respond so I wouldn't forget. I just started a ScanSAT ay that's awesome. I'll start off by recommending Contract Configurator Cacteye Refocused (Adds Satelites that are amazing with Distant Object Enhancement) ScanSAT Contract Pack : Anomalies Contract Pack: Constellations Contract Pack: Research Advanced Division Contract Pack; ScanSat Missions Contract Pack: Tourism (One With Casino) Some QOL that make the above easier and more engaging Mechjeb2 Waypoint Manager There are a couple more, Contract packs are my favorite thing about modded play. There are some more I can't remember or take the time post ATM. Look forward to reading the recommendations and will he back later with Ckan import list. -
My worst mission out that far is always manned. The probes are launched off of the main craft after the relay is set. Thought there might me some frog men observing from orbit.

Actually excited about the future of KSP 2
Fizzlebop Smith replied to Vl3d's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Was referring to the "Reddit" As far as off topic.. I guess I mis understood what AMA meant. -
I do think this is most likely the case. Though.. in poorly manage corporate situations I've been involved with. It's more about damage control, and having direct control over *who* gets to be the one talking. Conflicting narratives and all. I have a feeling that a single person mentioning internal conversations or emails might prove some form of malfeasance in sure anyone at TTI would claim ots bc of the close door negotiations.

[1.12.x] Parallax - PBR Terrain and Surface Objects [2.0.8]
Fizzlebop Smith replied to Gameslinx's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Did read through the posts to see if anyone posted a patch. You should probably start from page 1 the very first post..the one introducing the mod, talking about features. This one even has a small FAQ- 3,158 replies
