i use the real fuels mod and its not letting me select the fuel for the lm ascent stage engine, it works for every other tank tho

edit: nvm i figured it out, real fuels used up all the space in the ascent stage of the lem for the rcs by default, does anyone perhaps know how much i need? it can hold 375kg of fuel and i dont know how much of that i should allocate for the rcs and the engine itself

Decided to do some fictional upgrade paths, should the Delta III have gotten a long career path. I created the Delta III 8430H and the 8930H.

The 8430H is a Delta III with 4x Gem-60s instead of 9x Gem-46s.

The 8930H is a Delta III with 4x Gem-60s and 5x Gem-46s. All 5 of the 46s are air lit type.

The test payload is a 5 ton dummy payload to a 100km x 100km equatorial orbit. The 8430H finished with a mere 100 to 200 m/s left in the tank while the 8930H would have had around 300 to 500 m/s left. I say would have, because I kind of screwed up and had to burn up to keep it from falling back into the atmosphere. Oops. Also, Mechjeb didn't like it for some reason. Kept taking a steeper ascent, putting the vehicle horizontal way earlier than it should have, so I had launch it a second time and adjusted the profile a little, probably losing DeltaV in the process.

I also played around with CameraTools mod for the launch of the 8930H.

Just adding some resources to a subtype? It's probably due to B9PS not being the same as normal part resource definitions. Try this for the enhanced subtype :

  Hide contents

        SUBTYPE
        {
            name = Enhanced
            transform = Enhanced
            volumeAdded = 1
            addedMass = 0.004
            RESOURCE
            {
                name = MonoPropellant
                unitsPerVolume = 8
            }

            RESOURCE
            {
                name = ElectricCharge
                unitsPerVolume = 80
            }
        }

B9PS has very good documentation here: https://github.com/blowfishpro/B9PartSwitch/wiki/ModuleB9PartSwitch

And it seems like a sensible thing to add, I can add it to the dev branch if you're happy with it?

I believe it's a custom WIP texture/cfg by @ballisticfox0, and it's unreleased.

Yes, please add it to the dev branch. An official version is preferred over my cobbled together patch. Thanks!

The Koviets surprised us by testing their Mun rocket on Minmus and then landing on it before us. So to one up them we decided to also land on Minmus but bring in a new LRV.

Mission: Apollo 7

Payload: CSM named Jesper, LM named Klaus, Apollo Minmus Surface Experiment Package and LRV

Crew: Fredtrey Kerman Commander and LM Pilot, Erly Kerman Scientist, Jebediah Kerman CSM Pilot.

Messed around with recreating Thor IRBM, but using it for purely scientific purposes. Here Thor sends up a reentry test vehicle.

For anyone wondering how I got a fairing on, I created a custom fairing around the WRESAT and then translated the Thor rocket over it.

Feeling motivated to work again, despite the impending KSP2 release. No ETAs - I'm moving at the beginning of January.

Some small previews of my current project, I'm sure most here can figure out what it is...
(Sorry, apparently I didn't take any overall screenshots when I was working on it yesterday)

How does one explain this? Well, The MEP that is on the ground used to be on the rack up on the side of the Shelter, at least that's where it was when we landed. But then Leadfoot Bill climbed up the ladder, which shook the shelter, and the MEP literally just fell off. At first it slid straight down on top of the landing leg. Then it slipped down near the ground. Today when I loaded the save, I find this. Apparently it was headed off into the sunset but the hook had other ideas.

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, @Rodgeradded a small patch to the dev branch. The enhanced Mercury retropack now has actual EC and Monopropellant when you switch to that variant. It enables much longer duration missions like what was planned for Alan Shepard's 2nd flight, MA-10 (it never flew).

Thanks @Rodger! I appreciate the effort.

Yay!

What about the soil analyzer? Making it two-part with removable scoop is inpractical, so maybe use science system to "remove" it?

It's coming, I just hadn't started it yet haha. It was basically a box'o'science that was lowered to the ground via a little winch, I don't think it detached at all.

More experimenting with CameraTools. Decided to go from the side of the rocket instead of behind it so I don't get just giant SRB plume shots. :P

It seems that Boeing outsourced dual payload adapter to Kerbals.

You forgot to stick Jeb's junkyard logo somwere on those fairings.

Tbh, this isn't that insane. If anything, I'd call it almost practical.

If you want it to be really insane, just do what Carnasa does and build them upside down :lol:
