  1. Because a thought-out answer to a difficult question - complete with custom-made images and a willingness to answer follow-up questions - should be more indicative of your contribution to the forum than the 857th post in a number war thread.
  2. The first few seasons are amazing, and the entire book series (as much as I've read, at least) is too. I personally found the books much more palatable once I'd watched enough of the series to put a face to a name. The first chapter of the book drops about 50 names on you and assumes you know all of them by heart. I actually stopped reading the first time because of it. If you ever do give the series a start, this is a helpful image of how the nuance of the show changes over time.
  3. It's pilots/comms only. What engineers and Scientists allow is using SAS with a probe core without comms. They can steer, and the probe core can hold a heading, so it works just like you have a pilot or comms for SAS steering. It "feels" like you're getting away with gaining a pilot ability but really it's just how the two things happen to work together. Neither an Engineer/Scientist nor a commsless probe core can affect maneuver nodes, so even together they still can't.
  4. Throttling down while sideways is not a problem; you're not fighting gravity anymore. I missed that the SRBs were throttled down. Had I noticed I would have pegged them at max for sure.
  5. That's actually my only concern. Mandy Patinkin was *perfect* as Inigo Montoya every role he's ever been in and replacing him with a lesser actor anybody would be scary at best, and ruinous at worst. At least you'd be able to understand his lines. Actually I just imagined Dinklage doing some of Vizzini's lines and it sent shivers down my spine. "Do you want me to send you back to where you were? Unemployed!? In Greenland!"
  6. I'll toss my 3014 first attempt in there just to give another data point. I won't launch it 100 times to tweak because my patience is low tonight. However, I'd just like to say that I really like your launcher. Very efficient. I barely felt the need to throttle down at all and that was just near the end of the first LFO stage which is hard to avoid anyway. The only changes I made were: Move engine from stage 10 to stage 9, to go with the SRBs and clamps. Move decoupler from stage 7 to stage 6 to be with its engine. I just prefer it this way. Same with engine from stage 4 to stage 3, though I never got that far in the flight.
  7. Here's an unpopular opinion for you. I think there is enough room for improvement that a remake of the Princess Bride movie is warranted.
  8. You need to rename it in 2 places. That folder in saves should be changed "so if you named it "my sapce program" change it to "my space program" and then within that folder, find your persistent.sfs file and open it in a text editor. One of the first lines of that will be: Title = my sapce program Change it there as well. The only potential problem is, if you load a quicksave from before the change the change may revert or something else weird might happen. So either don't do that, or edit the quicksave.sfs file just like you did the persistent.sfs file. Source: None. I've done it myself with no issues.
  9. "Control Locked" means you don't have control of the ship. Generally this means you don't have a pilot on board, and no communications to Kerbin. I expect all the extra stuff you did only allowed your ship to orbit long enough to re-achieve communications.
  10. Yes because if the GoT TV people showed anything, it was their ability to come up with their own ending to a series.
  11. There are none I need, but I tend to always install ForScience WarpEverywhere RCS Build Aid Kerbal Alarm Clock Transfer Window Planner or Astrogator And of course Modulemanager. But that's a given.
  12. I've not made them swivel, but I did put them on telescoping arms and they worked fine. It was quite a while ago so I don't recall the details, but the biggest issue was keeping them from flexing under thrust. Auto-struts don't cross robotic parts no matter what you tell them to do
  13. The only thing I can think of is that you rebound the key to something else. Or maybe you have a non-English keyboard? I don't know if that's valid as I don't know how key bindings work in the game for other keyboards.
  14. Not going to watch the video, but yeah back in the early 2000's when Valve opened up their own little online store I thought it was stupid and a cash grab, and I refused to use it until about 10 years later when they suckered me in with a free download of Portal. I still don't see the benefit - to me - for every company out there to have their own store. I understand why THEY want it. I just don't see why I'd want it. For all the garbage people give it Steam is pretty solid. It'd be hard to get me to load a 2nd such service and even harder to get me to switch.
  15. I don't do them. My time is worth far more than my Kerbals' money. I put proper rocket engines on the craft and ignore that ions exist.
  16. I second this. You will even still get money for achieving "World firsts" (though you won't get the contract money). Unless you're really hurting for cash, though, there is really no reason to force yourself to do what they ask.
  17. Labs for me are homeworld surrogates. In addition to leveling up Kerbals, I also Alt-F12 complete "rescue" contracts when I've gotten the Kerbal to a lab. I wish this was an option in-game for a lesser reward. I never use them for science, though.
  18. It looks like your problem may be more of a "how do I install mods" than a "how do I install MechJeb." So in that vein I'm going to suggest you look into Ckan. It turns mod install and maintenance into a simple job of finding the mod in a list and clicking an install button.
  19. Well if you coast long enough, you'll come down eventually.
  20. I obviously have no idea, but if I had to guess I'd say 1 for both. Yes it'll have multiplayer. Yes multiplayer (and many other aspects of the game) will be worse than on PC. I also think it won't have dedicated servers, and will be co-op only. I believe it will not have official servers nor do I think it will be restricted to LAN play. But I feel this will be true of the PC version as well.
  21. Rendezvoused. You were close. It's not plural. It just happens to end in an "s"
  22. 100% organic Hemlock tea! Socrates approved!
  23. Sounds like a broken mouse button... Or maybe an outdated driver.
  24. This describes about 90% of fan headcanon. Star Trek added teleporters because it was too expensive to film shuttle sequences for every episode, and they'd get boring to boot. Every alien abduction movie was filmed at night with the spaceships being not much more than spotlights on cranes. Even Romeo and Juliet had to lower her balcony in most venues because it was impractical to construct the entire wall. Just back then it was accepted as a thing plays did. No one felt the need to determine why Juliet's mansion looked more like a split-level. Klingons in TOS didn't have tons of facial makeup because it would have been too expensive. They did in the movies and subsequent TV shows because those shows could afford that expense. That is it. That is ALL of it. All that garbage about the augment virus makes me want to puke. DS9's throwaway line from Worf about "we don't talk about it" was PERFECT and that should have been the absolute, total end of it. He should have winked at the camera, too, just for good measure.
