  1. Landed on Pol and Tylo in my Jool 5. I remember feeling rather... depressed as my landed orbited Vall with only 2000 dv, and I just thought: "This is impossible. There's no way I'll get this done." And yet I managed, and now I can see that while my mission may have originally appeared massively overbuilt, it's going to look like I planned this all out perfectly. Not bad for someone whose only other interplanetary missions are a one-way trip to Dres and a crewed return from Duna.
  2. Congratulations! I'm glad this thread has been so successful. We all enjoy it, wherever you choose to go with it.
  3. Floor 4407: The dogfight between the J35 and the F/A-18E Super Hornet. While the Hornet has much more weaponry, the J35 has highly advanced maneuverability. It pulls a Pugachev Cobra on the Hornet, giving it a chance to fire one of its two experimental missiles at it.
  4. Granted, it's a dog with a calendar affixed to it. Any attempts to approach it result in it biting you and then running away. I wish I had a helicopter.
  5. Good news, no need to redo the order of landings. Pol and Tylo are complete, and now I'm orbiting Bop. I'm just going to look up the location of the Bop Kraken real quick...
  6. "Hey commander, is the 'Oxygen' alarm one of the important ones?"
  7. Granted, but you're really bad at it. You can't even figure out how to turn on the engine. I wish I could have my own runway in my backyard.
  8. Floor 4405: The Joros Subsystems J35 VTOL, a kerbal equivalent of the F35, designed by yours truly. Jeb is climbing into the pilot's seat and is about to pass out with glee. Bob is reluctantly climbing into the navigator's seat and is about to pass out with dread.
  9. Floor 4400: A small sign saying: "In 44 floors, we will reach Floor 4444. Nice."
  10. Today, (just a few minutes ago) I landed on Pol for my Jool 5! I already have Laythe and Vall. Getting the lander docked to the mothership again was... One of the closest calls I've ever had... The lander is meant to ditch its empty tanks, but only for the Tylo landing. Neither the game nor KER could seem to get over the fact that I wasn't ditching them to land on Vall and Pol, and both of their predicted dv readouts were.... unreliable. Mostly accurate, but still. I barely got a Tylo assist (Thank you, Tylo! You're a lifesaver!) (Sometimes...) and also barely got into Laythe orbit. Then, I had a crazy plan. I would aerobrake... in a vacuum-optimized lander... with non-retractable solar panels. Needless to say, those panels are no longer with us, but their sacrifice got my orbit down to the level of the mothership. I raised my periapsis and then warped a lot until I got a good rendezvous. Using no more than 35 dv at least, I was able to dock with the mothership and refuel. Oh, and to save fuel I landed on Pol using only Val's EVA pack. Will probably do the same for Bop, when I get to it. "I'm going off the orbit lines on a crazy traaaa-ain (of gravity assists!)"
  11. Jamaica jerk dancing poultry will cook when added boiling with No problem!
  12. Sorry, I've been taking a break from the internet for Christmas and all. You'll be happy to know that the Laythe landing was successful, and so was Vall, but I may have to redo that last landing and change my order of landings because there's been an issue with the lander. It somehow has 2000 less dv than it did in the tests. Time to pull out the gravity assist calculator and some quicksaves.
