  2. External Pressure isn't part of the game. Just atmo-temp.
  3. Alright here is a 92 second run. I realized that a canard style stabilator was another way to get the nose high enough to give the wings lift.
  4. Today
  5. Coding stupidity - I should be to sleepy when I wrote that code, I was literally overwriting the good contents from the file with default values meant to be used when there's no file. I'm prone to these facepalms mistakes regularly. Yes, it is. I think I know already what's happening. I will check your log and edit this post with the findings. --- -- - POST EDIT Yep, you are using Steam: [LOG 06:22:12.124] AssemblyLoader: Loading assembly at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\ModuleManager.4.2.3.dll And I'm guessing you are using that dirty trick in the Launcher to avoid the PD Launcher, I'm right? That trick causes too much collateral effects (even KSP gets screwed, you will find a lot of files in the wrong places, as the settings.cfg and the screenshots, a mess).
  6. Is anyone else having an issue with the OV-100B Payload Docking Adapter showing up without a texture? Link to my KSP Log

  8. The problem is, no manmade spacecraft would be able to reach the core in one piece due to the pressure. And since it's not really simulated, the only thing that could stop the craft from getting too low is temperature. Buuuut on Jool it's not exactly reliable. Not to mention, the entire reentry profile is borked, but apparently it's not a bug .
  9. Vall too. This will be my last one for a while, if not ever. I considered getting the master circumnavigator, but I'm not driven enough to circumnavigate the missing planets. Actually, I started a Mun circumnavigation months ago, but I gave up one quarter of the way. Same for a Tekto circumnavigation. The thing is, I've been playing this game 4 years, I've done all I really wanted to do, I haven't found any new interesting challenge to try after
  10. im gonna do the whole depot thing, send me the manifest id.
  11. And besides, isn't Jupiter theorized to have some kind of solid core and if so, why not also Jool?
  12. I have been unable to find the reference documents, so I'm missing key information: Once I have dumped my text assets and identified a .json file and parameter within that file, how do I format a .patch file to change that parameter? If I want a patch to change the Ec generation rate in "generator_3V_thermoelectric_radioisotope.json", and address the "ResourceSetting" "Rate" value, or change the "UseDecay" parameter to false? If I want a patch to change the ISP range in "engine_3v_hydrogen_swerv.json" to something other than 320 to 1450, how do I address this specific value range? This looks like it should be simple enough. How does the patch file encode the .json file (as seen in the text asset dump) and specific parameter? Without the wiki reference data I'm unsure how to get started.
  13. We never had an answer to if it's intentional, a bug, or just not possible to remove because of how they made planets.
  14. Agree with most of this except a few points: I much prefer the ksp2 way, it saves you from one click when you want to pick a different part (which happens a lot). I usually delete either by selecting the gap between the parts or by just hitting the "del" key, and I don't find this inconvenient comparing to the ksp1 way. Not against the idea, could be nice (depends on the implementation). Although, if you didn't know this, you can select the mode by right clicking on the button, no need to cycle through each one: I very much disagree on this, maybe a hot take idk. The only problem with this is it's riddled with bugs, but when it works, it's way better than the ksp1 way. Don't know if this could be considered a bug or not. However, this is in fact, not possible in ksp1:
  15. So, @R-T-B and I figured out how to get ExoPlaSim to work, and I also confirmed that I can read the outputted .npy files as is, since they're a type of binary file. I will need to modify my reader plugin for the ExoPlaSim files since they have the data arranged a bit differently from how I take in data in the main plugin, but that's hardly a problem.
  16. Might be the version I'm playing with. Assumed it was intentional bc it's was so neat to be able to do it. I thought it was part of the idea of them being trained up before officially joining the roster at 500 hours.
  17. Cool challenge! I do accept the challenge! And I'm proud to be part of this cool annual event. My current best time: 2:06.
  18. I would want two as one might be an happy accident, its also ways to negate an crash next to the tower,
  19. Movement: There is currently no way that I know of to move horizontally inside the VAB, my suggestion for this would be to include a keybind (shift+middle mouse) in order to drag the camera left or right inside the VAB. This would provide extra visibility if you craft is particularly wide or for any other reason (PLANES!!!). UI Behavior & Design: Most people when they are referring to the UI are upset about the behavior and not the physical look. Although I am not a fan of either the behavior or the physical look Part Picker: When I remove a part from the part picker, if there is no blank space I have to go all the way to the bottom to "drop" the part, please make this like KSP1 so if you select another part while "holding" one it just deletes the current part. Symmetry Mode: The symmetry mode all being in the same radial needs to be separated, its very inconvenient having to cycle through each one. Just add another button to the left of the existing UI Rotation: The rotate arrows are too large, these are always in my way anytime I go to rotate/move an object, not to mention grabbing them also seems to be a pain! Parts Manager: PLEASE bring back the old design, this current parts manager can be very tedious, I miss right clicking on any part and being able to perform actions on it! Finding parts through this parts manager now is very confusing, off-putting, and difficult. Protective Fairings: WHY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD would you change this, bring back the old behavior where you created the shell based on mouse movement + left click / right click. WHOEVER thought this was an improvement should be fired, while yes you can be more accurate it is incredibly tedious now! At the very least please give us the option of using either system! Bugs: I have found that symmetry mode does not always work how it did in KSP1, there are instances in KSP2 where I would like to use symmetry mode but am unable to (even though in KSP1 this was possible) Suggestions: Part: Make the tubes scalable, have a slider which you can increase length (any size), or width (preset increments sm, md, lg, xl) This would allow an enormous amount of creative possibilities! Part: Make fuel tanks also scalable with the behavior mentioned above ^ Editor: Add the possibility for multi selecting parts, for example is I want to select multiple parts and move them this is not current possible! Editor: under each part can we please have the category for this part included? This would make memorizing where to find these easier for all! Trip Planner: This is a very nice feature, although in the below screenshot it is hard to know which burn is landing/take-off from the mun for a return trip, my suggestion here would be to include some icon to indicate each! TABS: The amount of tabs in the editor can be quite overwhelming, sometimes I wish to close them all but there is no quick way to do this, my suggestion would be to implement some keybind (double left click) to quickly close all the open tabs. The screenshot below looks like a computer from the 90s with a virus with the amount of popups there are lol! Kudos: i'm doing an awful lot of complaining, so the devs don't hate me entirely i'll mention some of the things I do like! Part Search: Searching for parts is very nice, I dont believe KSP1 had this, way to go on this devs! Trip Planner: The trip planner is very nice, I thoroughly enjoy this! Size Labels: The size labels were a very nice touch and very needed! Dropdowns: the dropdowns inside each category are very nice, I find them very helpful for minimizing the amount of parts I need to scroll through!
  20. Reported Version: v0.2.1 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Windows 11 | CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X | GPU: Radeon 7900XTX | RAM: 32GB I have this vessel in orbit of kerbin, and I was refueling it. When I tried transferring fuel within the same vessel, the fuel got "dumped" and lost all of my delta V. Included Attachments: .ipsImage { width: 900px !important; }
  21. I've noticed a few people on this forum play Ace Combat games (like five lol) and I also noticed that you could make threads about specific games here. Seeing as there is no dedicated Ace Combat thread, I made this for Ace Combat players to talk about... well, Ace Combat and such. How do you do the campaign, what's your go-to fighter and special weapon, etc. Ace Combat is a series of games that take place in the alternate universe of Strangereal. Strangereal's Earth has different continents and countries. The player's character is a "silent protagonist" and is always a fighter pilot from one of the fictional countries. Common traits of Ace Combat and their campaign-based gameplay involve: a wide spread of aircraft and weapons, enemy ace pilots, and giant superweapons. Not to mention the excellent storytelling (usually), graphics and music. Also, fun fact: more players play KSP than Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown by monthly average from Steam, but roughly the same number of games have been sold for each. AC7 released five years later than KSP, however.
  22. Already in the game, but only usable with mods.
  23. If I send back a single copy, I get 125,1k science. your calculation, I assume, is made by calculating the science values in the wiki. but those science values are the maximum amount of science that can be collected, over multiple samples. if you take a single samples, most experiments do not return 100% science value. hence why you need to carry back multiple samples. your calculation, most likely, gives the maximum theoretical value, minus the "recovery of a vehicle from" extra bonus (in this case i get 120 for "returned from tylo surface") i also checked removing a single set of samples (so 3 copies of each experiment, but 4 for the infrared telescope) and I got 142145, 599 points less than I got. a fifth set of experiments would have returned a few additional dozen points. i'm sure i could calculate an ashyntotical maximum for the curve if i put myself to the task.
  24. This is a question for the dev team. When will Jool actually be a gas planet and lose its surface?
