Nothing a little polish can't fix. Aka updates are expected in weeks not months. Aka we are fully funded. Aka etc etc

The steamdb page suggests an update 5 hours ago.  What would this mean?

it means we have to move on with our lives until we get a real new update (like new meaningful features from the roadmap).

lets hope t2 turns this around with competent people, instead of dropping the IP

Unfortunately I think T2 will hold onto the IP and leave it to rot.  Although in the event that it does get sold and someone else picks it up, they need to do the job properly and not re-use KSP1 code as mentioned in the ShadowWorks video.

sounds like 99,9% though :(

The thing is that KSP2 is currently in an awkward state: it hasn’t been abandoned officially so modders can’t make mods without worrying about updating them, but development’s likely paused or canceled so we can’t really expect future content updates.

I think part B of your post is answer to part A.      I don’t think modders have to worry about update  issues for the foreseeable future.     It’s not like we didn’t spend the first 6, 7? Years of the game fully expecting lost saves and broken mods every 4-8 months.    In comparison, we have now entered a long period of extreme stability.

The pessimists tell that KSP2 is KIA.
The optimists tell that KSP2 is MIA.

Either way, KSP2 saw very little action over the last ~7 years (wrt gameplay, development, performance, game engine design, general software architecture, engagement, return of invest, etc).

That's why realists say pulling the plug was an AOM (act of mercy).

I’m not on the train, but it looks like the engine exploded, then everyone got sad/mad that it exploded and attacked the remains, and what would have been more hype fuel became more anger fuel for more attacks, and finally everyone is just sitting at a fading campfire.

Vanamonde called it before it began.
