  1. Welcome to the forum @Okhin.

Don't worry about the landings, I have thousands of hours and still crash occasionally. I also used chutes as a backup for many years as I'm sure did a lot of the membership so welcome to that club as well.

It's really cool that you are interested in writing KSP fan fiction as we have a great group of helpful and friendly writers here who are always willing to help if you get stuck and I can't wait to read your work.

  2. The KSP Moderation Team is proud to present

Threads of the Month Awards, for November 2019!

As many of you know the 1.8 update has brought some major changes to the underlying programming of the game and has created a lot of work for our fantastic modding community so we would like to start by saying thank you to all you great content creators, we appreciate your hard work in expanding the game. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind mod users that these pillars of our community also have real life pressures and responsibilities so please be patient if your favourite mod is still being updated and please consider donating or assisting your favorites if you have the money or the time to do so.

In light of this our first winner is @sarbian for Mechjeb - an add on used by a great many members including some with disabilities without which playing KSP would not be an option. This is not to make light of his other great achievements such as Module Manager (in partnership with @blowfish and @Shadowmage), Custom Barn Kit and for introducing the Nyan Cat to KSP. Well done, Sir and keep up the good work.

Next we have @IkranMakto with a totally fantastic stock chopper that's great fun to fly and also looks sensational:

We would like to thank @KSK for sharing an article that explains the design and construction of the Saturn V rocket which includes the memories of the people involved in this monumental achievement. A must read for anyone interested in space flight.

@purpleivan has been bringing us the alternative story of the Apollo landings for the last 3 years in his excellent fanfic that includes some really sensational craft design and imagery as well:

We have another amazing stock aircraft from @Kronus_Aerospace this month. If you've ever wanted to fly stratolaunch or see how your computer performs with a 3150 part vessel this is just the thing for you.

For those who wish to celebrate halloween in KSP style @zer0Kerbal has you covered. check this out:

Last but certainly not least we have a question on orbital mechanics by @GungaDin followed by some really great advice and explanations by our knowledgeable and helpful community contributors. There is some great information here:

Congratulations to all for your wonderful contributions and please remember to report a thread (add the comment 'totm') or PM a moderator if you feel it is worthy of thread of the month.  Special thanks go to @Servo for nominating.

All winners are free to add the Thread of the Month badge (created by our very own @adsii1970) to their posts, signatures or have it carved into an ice sculpture provided the artist is a member of the National Ice Sculpting Association, uses best safety practice and all work is comprehensively covered by insurance including public liability for the lifetime of the exhibit.

this should be in ksp2 the devs can use neural learning to train the game to expect physics calculations and boost performance with 1000fps

Oh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood. Moved back to KSP 2 Discussion with my apologies.

  4. Some content has been removed, please keep the discussion on topic.

The reason some non profane words are filtered is that they have created problems in the past. We wish to keep the forum a friendly and welcoming place for everyone and as such some topics are off limits for discussion here because they cause trouble.

[On topic and speaking only as a member here]
I have no idea what it takes to make a game like KSP 2 but I'm sure all the people involved are working very hard to bring us a successor to KSP that will be a great experience for both old and new players. As mentioned upthread Star Theory has solicited and received a great amount of input from the community and will have their work cut out in attempting to incorporate these new features and requests. Please be patient as I see the lack of new information as very positive in that the devs have a lot to implement and it would not be advantageous to announce or preview things that might not make it to the final release.
