  1. Welcome to the forum @jsanch6609, the answer is in the post above yours: All the planet packs rely on Kopernicus which is being updated at the moment. Please keep in mind that while it is not against the forum guidelines to request an update if it is polite and not repetitive, a great many people rely on Kopernicus for their preferred setup and the devs are usually inundated with these requests. 1.8 changed many underlying aspects of KSP's code so please be patient as the great members who create this free content for us also have the rest of life's responsibilities to deal with as well.

  2. Hello @Jestersage, it's not against the rules to ask for an update if it is polite and not repetitive however the substantial changes to KSP's underlying programming introduced in 1.8 have created a large workload for our excellent modding community so please be patient as @linuxgurugamer probably has the greatest burden of all our great mod contributors (180 mods at my last count - probably more now).

Hello James Kerman, I recently installed Scatterer and EVE but the problem was here before.

I've moved your topic from KSP discussion to tech support, PC, modded because the only code I know is Morse (Technically a cypher that was developed by Alfred Veil) but luckily we have a large percentage of the community versed in this arcane art. It would be really helpful if you could post your KSP log to help diagnose your problem. This post explains how but please remember to host your log file on a storage service like dropbox or google drive and link to it here in the forum (really large posts like a KSP log can cause problems for threads and make things difficult for community members that use mobile devices):

  4. Welcome to the forum @spock19.

In the vanilla game a 2 stage rocket is the way I usually do my first orbit. The design really depends on how much payload you want to get to orbit so the lower the weight of your final stage, the smaller your rocket will need to be. Usually my first stage uses a swivel - powerful and optimised for low altitude, this engine has 'gimbal' and will help your rocket stay on course, the second stage uses a terrier - a much less powerful engine but far more efficient at high altitude. If you are going unkerballed and playing career, remember to add solar panels, an antenna and a temperature gauge. This will allow you to fulfil future 'science from space above kerbin' contracts for free.

As we march on into a new decade the moderation team wishes everyone a happy new year and we hope you all live long and prosper and play KSP.

First we have the amazing and sometimes scary design and piloting skills by the inimitable @Triop:

Next is an excellent series of tutorials for our Spanish speaking kerbonauts by @Janderklander:

We have a great challenge here by @Mars-Bound Hokie that melds Jules Vern and KSP together (please remember that entries close 20th February):

@Oraldo revak has created the third and final cinematic of his 'Mohole' series and boy, what an ending it is:

Last but not least we have another fantastic contribution from our thread of the year creator @ManEatingApe - A collaborative caveman Jool mission:

Congratulations to all for your wonderful contributions and please remember to report a thread (add the comment 'totm') or PM a moderator if you feel it is worthy of thread of the month.  Special thanks go to @5thHorseman, @linuxgurugamer @IncongruousGoat and @Just Jim for nominating.

All winners are free to add the great new Thread of the Month badge (created once again by our very own @adsii1970) to their posts, signatures or have it launched into space on the maiden voyage of Starship provided 1) You can afford to pay for it. 1.1) This is approved by your government. 1.2) Complies with all outer space treaties. 1.3) The entire moderation team is at the launch site to witness it from a safe vantage point. 1.3a) There must be snacks.
